Backstage Bastards launches Banksessie videos at Banksy’s studio.

Banksy Sessies are recorded at The Art Of Banksy Expo in De Beurs van Berlage, Amsterdam

Dutch Rappers MocroManiac, DrummaKid and aCtive have each recorded a track in Banksy’s studio. The videos, well known as Banksessie, where shot in the replicated studio from Banksy at the ‘Beurs van Berlage’. This venue is currently host to ‘The Art Of Banksy’ expo, the world’s most valuable Banksy Art collection in the world. The expo runs until the 30th September in Amsterdam. The videos will be published over the next weeks at www.backstagebastards.com.

RA Zeewijk, founder of Backstage Bastards and recently winner of the prestigious Dutch Street Art Awards, for best video: ”Our concept Banksessie, rappers all over the world perform a track from a park bench, can be adjusted into many formats. It is our personal mission to offer any rapper a free video stage, to show themselves to an international audience. For companies or events we create custom made versions, like these ‘Banksy Sessies’.”

Martijn Beenen from Brand New Expo, organiser of ‘The Art of Banksy’: “We believe in the power of entertainment and that communication should be authentic. Around ‘THE ART OF BANKSY’ we’ve done several successful guerrilla campaigns like ‘living art’, where Banksy art came alive and we co-hosted an ‘Inspired by Banksy’ street art expo in the art’otel at the Central Station.”

Hip Hop and Banksy Backstage Bastards introduces Banksy to the Dutch Hip Hop audience with this triple video project. The popular MocroManiac, on a beat from the famous Amsterdam producer ProblemChild, is responsible for the grand opening. ‘Banksy in New York’ is the topic for aCtive. Locally famous for his fast, Eminem-like flow, funny lyrics and raw Hip Hop beats, he integrated the New York project from 2013 in chronological order. The 31 Banksy works are all referred to in his track ‘Out Than In’. The final video comes from Drummakid, among others know as the drummer with Dutch rapper Typhoon. With his English track, Banksy Sessions wants to appeal to an international audience as well.
