This is a cool idea. The Dutch are so rad.

So Dutch electronic music producer Drvg Cvltvre will make a tune especially for you for the measly sum of 25 euros. All you have to do is answer 5 questions on the website Something Between You and Me and he’ll send it to you as soon as possible.Since I’m a huge fan of Drvg Cvltvre’s work (I mean, the man made a tune called I’ll Wear Your Face on a Chain, what’s not to love?) I decided I’d happily part with the money just to hear what’d he’d come up with and to support his work ethic (the past couple of years he gave away more free music than Russian torrent-sites).This is the song he made after hearing the answers to the questions about my worst nightmare (that the Utrecht International Comedy Festival, which I’m helping to organise, will be a complete failure), my dinner last night (a terrible microwave-meal of mashed potatoes and sausage), favourite 80’s movie character (Richard Pryor in Live on the Sunset Strip), favourite drink (beer) and childhood crush (too embarrassing to mention here).The end result is gloomy, claustrophobic and yet hopeful at the same time and I love it. The man really captured my mood for the last couple of weeks (or, you know, he had a demo lying around which he handed over, there’s no way of really knowing. I choose to believe the former.)Now I’d thought I’d give some other people a chance to listen to it. Free download.
