I heard it a few weeks ago when I was watching #DrBoyceWatkins @therealboycewatkins on FB Live. So you know how it was a #blackman who 1st had the idea for aspects of the internet we now know & love today? Well, he said back in 1984 (when I was 4 & no one heard of such a thing) he went to the #black #elite of that time (#rich #wealthy #famous #blackpeople) & laid out his #internet plan. He asked them for their #financial #support so he could get it off the ground. Of course, black people said no & said if his #genius #invention was anything big or worth taking part in #whitepeople would already be on it 😕😲😐😑 cuz we've been conditioned to think it's only something amazing or truthful when white people say it is, but I digress... So he asks them to at least buy these famous company's URLs (IBM, for example...I forget the other names #BoyceWatkins said..Huge 80s #companies) so when the internet blows up these companies would have had to go to black #investors & would've paid A LOT of #money to get their names so they can hustle on the internet. #DrWatkins said one man bought some URL name & it ended up being worth so much money, but #dude didn't get any investors from his own people so he sells it to white people who then sold it to some other party & here we are #dumbdeafandblind #UGH I STILL cant believe that!
