DIY bathroom remodel: my niches, dry-walled Things are starting to look real! Here are my niches, with dry-wall closing them in nicely. We did not pre-cut holes for these; instead, I located where they were approximately, cut a small hole near the center, then worked my way out, cutting drywall out until I reached the edges. I used a mini Sawz-All type tool our neighbor loaned us; although it was battery-operated and quit working after about 10 minutes, it saved me a lot of work! I should pause in all this blogging to point out that we truly have The Best Neighbors in the World. Not only did they loan their tool, but they are allowing us to use their toilet and shower during the course of this remodel! If it weren't for that, I'm not sure how we would be accomplishing all this. And besides being awesome neighbors, they're great friends. Thanks, C and G, for everything you give us!
