so anyway Lincoln is my peaceful bab and he would actually get along with Lexa very well I think. He should be her general at one point in season 5 or something. ‘the war has been trying to turn me into a monster for as long as i can remember’. I KNEW he was the one and only, the curious about Others, peace-loving Grounder, I KNEW that’s why he saved Octavia. I am so happy about Lincoln. Lincoln is the best.
Considering the way the Mountain Men keep the Grounders in a constant state of war, I think their way of life makes a lot of sense. I am going to ignore how 50 or even 100 years is not a whole lot of time for things to change so radically. that’s at most like 3 generations. On the other hand, we can assume that cultural reproduction dropped radically and that a lot more generations got cycled through than that in the extremely hostile circumstances. There’s a reason they start kids on the warrior path so young. 14 and 5 kill marks? I expect they don’t live long even if not Reaped/murdered. Cancer anybody? Like I imagine that’s still a thing with all this radiation. Few elders, lots of kids getting to be adults at around 11, many mums and dads and aunts killed to protect them. I wonder when the Grounders have gone from wolf pack - like social structure to villages. Even a city! maybe this was 50 years ago too. Let’s say people die easily at 35? That many kids don’t make it through birth. It’s likely that kids that were still alive after the bombs inherited the world, and their parents and extended family gave everything to help them survive. I’m thinking these adults died quickly. That life itself was a war pretty much for 50 years. I’m thinking that leads to some quick cultural change. You lose a lot of knowledge. How the fuck did they build up these traditions though damn. Death of a thousand cuts? If death has no cost life has no value? Total loyalty of Heda recquired? How did the Commander arise out of the ashes of the world?
Is there enough here for everybody? I wonder about that because the land and the resources and shit. Can the Ark even support itself? Are the Grounders losing out on things? THIS is important. But I’m gonna take Kane at his word and believe that the Grounders really only see the Arkers as an invading force and now that there’s an alliance they might co-exist if they can swallow the multitudes of wrongs the Arkers have done them (and also if the ARkers can actually give them anything useful after the war) and it’s not about the land that’s lost. Maybe the ARk is too close to the mountain anyway really..
Murphy fucks up again. Why the fuck did Lexa send Grounders from TonDC??? I mean. Ok. THEY are going to have to live with these Arkers but they just lost 18 people to them.Also yeah Murphy you could have pushed Finn over perhaps. Shot him in the leg. anyway back to feuding, I love that FEUD.
Clarke really wandered off so far that Quin thought he could just kill her without anybody noticing from the enormous camp? then she ran so far and Lexa found her with ONE GUARD at her side? I mean....this makes a lot more fanfic canon compliant and ‘believable’. and then they suddenly come upon a truly GIANT gorilla? (broke out of a zoo with radiation-upped weight??’) ‘this way I found something!’ the pauna leftovers-from-kills ground! good find Clarke! Clarke shoots it a couple of times but whatever bullets don’t do shit for no reason. I mean. This makes my crack theory that if you can ‘metabolise’ ratiation then you can get superpowers from it a lot more likely. This Pauna was probably born mutated as a bigger gorilla too i guess but it’s so big because it is so good at metabolising radiation. Which might explain why it’s become a carnivore too (no it doesn’t) and why it doesn’t live with other gorrillas as gorillas do in the wild???

CAGE as in we hunt and cage grounders and bleed them to death and turn them into monsters and hey you’re incharge of that now son. Dante’s got an interesting sense of humour.
wtf Octavia why do u challenge for a fight when these Grounders are just going for a hunt because Skaikru are inhospitable useless idiots? (like seriously they don’t have food? how is this not a major concern for everybody? like not even rations of food?). but seriously why octavia, you had the whole day.
Murphy’s development is actually really good. Self-fullfilling prophecy criminal must re-envision himself before he can change.
I mean Lincoln told Bellamy he couldn’t do it. Then Bellamy led him into the situation where he’s always been injected with a dose of super addictive drug it’s like have all your addiction triggers now fight it.
It is interesting how the Grounders value ‘strength’. It makes sense.
