Rowdy Neighbors by SD Barling Via Flickr: Since the 1980s UVa has been expanding its crown jewel teaching hospital, but rather than relocating to the edge of town where the impact on density and traffic could be lessened, they chose to just grow like a centralized blob, swallowing neighborhoods and a large chunk of West Main Street. Never made a damn bit of sense to me but then, urban planning in Charlottesville is kind of a myth, anyway.
