last song: I've been on an oldies kick with Tu Honggang (霸王别姬, 精忠报国, 你), 1994 ROT3K soundtrack (this compilation has instrumental themes which I don't usually see included \o/), and 2006 贞观之治's OP & ED... sorry I threw a bunch out here XD; but all of them have been rotating through my listen-on-repeat loop so as;dlfakj;sdlkj there's no One Last Song.
last film: Mononoke-hime, a rewatch thanks to the 4K restoration in IMAX back in March (uh yeah a month & a half ago... I don't watch that many movies /facepalm). My favorite Ghibli film!
last book: reading Is That a Fish in Your Ear? by David Bellos.
last tv show: in progress, very slowly... the 2006 cdrama 贞观之治 aka The Zhenguan Reign, which is about Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong of Tang (it's listed on MDL as The Rise of the Tang Empire, which is such a generic bore of a title I refuse to use it). I've seen many cnetizens cite this for having their favorite portrayal of Li Shimin, but ugh why so hard to find high-quality video of it :(
also its use of natural sunlight is REALLY visually striking :o
sweet/savoury/spicy: savory! I like sweet & spicy too but my food cravings always lean savory.
last google search: "best air purifier" (too much dust at home /o\)
looking forward to: bumming around home for the weekend, vacation later this summer, a certain Orange Man's expiration (ideally accompanied by his fellow shitfuckers)
current obsession: for the last 10 months it's been Good Morning! Workers of the Three Kingdoms... I first read it last July and I'm @_@?! at the hole I've fallen into, but ahhhh the plot, the characterization, the reasonability of the alt-history divergence given the totally unscientific protag, the military strategy/tactics/logistics, the buried revolutionary changes to society, the prose style, the memes lol, the humanity—my history nerd heart is SO happy
plus the shockingly well-handled Han-Hu dynamic (y'all my expectations are so low... and yet! oh boy the dehumanization at worst/superficial treatment at best I've seen condoned by authorial depiction in other novels)
however, the fandom is t i n y—even the cfandom!—so my obsession has spilled over into Chinese historical RPF spanning other eras 😂
tagging @syncogon @mademoiselle-red anyone who wants to do this~
