Local Event: River City Arts Jam 2017
This past Saturday marked my second time at the art festival hosted by SWAC. Downtown is currently in a state of "revitalization" and a lot of changes are underway. This particular event was a much needed attempt to bring the arts and music back to the area. Last year it rained and rained and all we did was sit and drink beer all day. I didn't sell anything! (Check out last year’s post, which ironically was posted exactly one year ago!)
This year was exciting because I decided to do it last minute and it was like 100 degrees. Felt like summer. Everyone was hot and grumpy and tired but we all had so much fun. All the buddies showed up to showcase some great stuff. I saw some old friend, made some new connections, learned a lot about a lot, and as always- really absorbed how much artwork I really have made. Even cooler, we made the news! It’s also good practice for me to talk about my art and network. I even did some live video stuff! Follow me on instagram for behind the scenes BJR stuff.
I posted a bunch of photos on the facebook page, which I am doing my very best to update more often. If FB is your thing, you can follow me here.
