Hey all! So, kind of a big day yesterday! What started as a lovely date night with my wife, turned into me coming out to 3 women I know locally. They were all super supportive, and all 3 actually came out to me and my wife in kind (1 lesbian, 1 bisexual and 1 as a transman)! It was such an amazing experience, to be able to freely express myself, and to have people return my trust with their own truths. There was even an amazing exchange between the group on preferred pronouns, experiences, etc. Such an amazing way to end an otherwise mundane work week. As always, I owe a huge debt of gratitude to my wife for her continuing love and support. I could not ask for a better partner. Today has been a fantastic day! My wife and I had a proper date, the first time with me enfemme, and we had a wonderful time! We took a trip to a state park where we had a picnic lunch, walked the beach and explored a bit. Then we headed off to one of our favorite little towns for some more exploring and shopping before a delicious early dinner. I made a point of not taking pics or other stuff "for the gram". We wanted it to be just about us, connecting on a new level, so this selfie from the morning is all I will share. I think going forward I will probably be posting significantly less, as I don't want this to turn into some sort of a compulsive thing where I feel the need to push out content for its own sake. Hello all! Happy International Day of Transgender Visibility! There's a lot to be said for visibility. We feel validated, beautiful, loved. Before I joined this community on Instagram, I had never given much thought to going out in public. It just seemed like an unattainable dream, and not worth pining for. But with the inspiration and support from the many lovely people I've met here, and of course the unwavering love from my wife, I was able to step out into the world. It's been an amazing journey so far, and I can only hope that the best is yet to come. Ever since that first step into the light, I've felt a new sense of responsibility to myself and the community as a whole. There are so many who never get the chance to be free, to shine in the light and let the world see their true selves. But we can change that...for every step we take into the world, every positive interaction we have with people, will slowly change the hearts and minds of society. There are many here already doing amazing work, and by comparison my contribution is small. But it takes billions of grains of sand to form a beautiful tropical beach. So don't despair, for even the small acts add up in the end.
