FIVE WHOLE EGGS TODAY!! she’s burying them really well.. i can’t wait to see how many she has !

im probably gonna blog about this once and a while just so i can keep a record but i have a duck nesting in my front yard! she’s only laid 3 eggs and they lay up to 7-15 but i love her already. im going to buy her a baby pool so she doesn’t have to lead her ducklings across the street for water (which is literally just where someone’s sub pump lets out, she thinks it’s a water hole)

checked on the ducks!!! theyre muscovies which means fleshy faces and lotsahissing but no quacking 8( malfoy isnt looking very happy right now but he hates everyone? he’s sitting next to the nest like a good pappy <3 mama bellatrix is sitting on her hatched baby, and shes eating and drinkng ravenously!  baby mumble is looking less dry, more floofy, and is wriggling under mama. dont know the sex, but its looking so much healthier than before. hasn’t left the nest yet 8( im going to build a ramp so it can get back in when it does leave, and im worried about the health but ill keep checking!

2 tequila shots in and my second bottle of cider and I know I'm gonna regret this. I've known since before I even came here. I like my friends more than I like myself, after all.

Keeping ducks is stressful as fuck. We have been told to keep them cause the ducklings will just fly away after two months and there is no way of taking them to a pond or lake without accidentally making them orphans cause we cant catch he mother duck and she wont be able to find them if we move them too far. So their in our back garden, and because the pool is the most sheltered place in our garden they want to go in there. However if they do that there is a good chance they will die or become sick. Pool water is not good for ducks, we have put on a covering but they could also get stuck under that and die. Ducklings have also been known to die of freight which means my making sure that they don’t go into the pool by picking them up and chasing them away we could still be killing them.
