You know exploring the ethics of creating magical beings to be sex slaves is something that would be interesting to explore in fiction. But wicker is just simple smut so it ain't that deep.
Right?!
And, from what I was reading (from people who read the original short story the movie is based on), in the case of Wicker its not even set-up like 'welcome to the world of the living! Drop your pants', the Wicker Man --

-- Upon being brought to life, actually goes into the village to explore being a living person for a bit which includes learning about what women really want before he goes back to the fisherwoman to be a good man for her.
Again, it's like 'hey, let's get some new, unique mainstream media -- oh, right, people are too dumb...'
