I’m so tired of bad research. I’m so tired. Maybe I just suck at reading research articles but when I read a quote from Article A that says “this thing I’m studying is important because Article B says ABC” and then I go read Article B and realize Article B actually says XYZ (which is directly opposite to ABC), Article A just loses all credibility. Who peer reviewed your research. Who let you develop a hypothesis like that. You misrepresented all of your references… why?
#social work#research#research study#bad research#also the argument they made would have been fine#they just chose the worst point to back up their argument#there’s so much research they could have used that proved their point#but nah let’s develop a hypothesis by misrepresenting everything#this study said that dropout rates in therapy was 50+ percent for children with PTSD according to the referenced article#the referenced article actually concluded that the dropout rate for children with PTSD was like 12 percent#if you’re trying to convince people to take more care when treating PTSD there’s so much actual proven research that could have been used#but nah let’s lie#but maybe I’m just out of the game too long#but teaching grad level has made me way more critical of the research coming out right now#ducks thoughts
