Tropes / things I put / love to see in most angsty stories for anyone interested
main character calling out to someone they lost a long time ago when they're in pain or struggling
the characters who go through the same trauma, but one stays good while the other goes the bad route.
just because the character's sad doesn't mean they know why
not everyone knows about the war / conflict
the slow slide down the wall leaving a streak of blood
NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE
"You can't kill that who has no life."
The character with the trauma that didn't become the villain
The villain who's gentle around kids
The immortal character covered in trinkets of people they loved and lost.
The character who still uses pinky promises as a legitimate form of trust
"Despite everything, it's still you."
The killer who's lost count of the people they've killed to avenge/save/protect the one they love
The way people write the environment! Like
The trees remembered him as he returned. The way they bowed for the little prince, no longer a child. A man who has gone through so much, and changed even more. They never forgot him. How could they when it felt like only days ago he got lost among their branches and roots.
The side character who gave up everything
The end justifies the bodies left behind
Only a monster can kill a monster
Homesick for a home that never existed
Hallucinations of someone who's dead
