"Educating boys means teaching them respect. Men who respect women change the world 💙 How do we educate the men of tomorrow?"
Duda: My friend, these days you feel a different kind of fear, not for yourself, but for the world our kids will grow up in, right?
Tainá: You know, I think a lot about what's happening to women right now, but it's rarely talked about. How people are raised, how boys are raised …
Duda: And for us, as mothers of boys, everything changes, right?
Tainá: I'm very concerned, both as a mother of a girl and a son. How will my daughter be treated, and how will my son treat women in the future? I think raising boys today isn't just about teaching them strength. Because many people have said that in our time, it's about strength, about men having to be strong, but it's also about feeling, about respecting boundaries, about hearing "no".
Duda: At home, I teach them a lot about how feeling is not a weakness, that they can cry, that crying does not diminish anyone, and that a woman is not property.
Tainá: Exactly. And at a certain point, when someone says "no," that's the moment to stop. A person has reached limit when say "no," and that's that moment.
Duda: That's how they perceive us, the way our husbands treat us. They grow up accustomed to this, knowing what's right and what's wrong, right?
Tainá: I think the details change dramatically, and simple apologies, talking about emotions, and showing respect are already part of our home.
Duda: Because what they see and hear today will be exactly what they will repeat tomorrow.
Tainá: When we talk about violence against women, we also talk about emotional education.
Duda: Creating better men starts now, in our arms, in our daily conversations.
Tainá: And you, mother of a boy, how do you raise the men of the future?
