first draft of my dmk ita bag ❤️🖤🤍

there's a handful of things i wasn't able to fit, a couple things i need to print out, couple things i'm waiting for in the mail, and some other charm ideas i have that will have to be added whenever those are made... eventually i will need to get a bigger bag (i've been having a hard time finding The Perfect Bag), but i got this cheap one to make a first draft because i was excited to decorate and share lol

i came back to this guy to give him a little TLC. sorry i keep posting him i love him lmao. rambling about what i worked on below

i finally coloured his eyes! i opted not to change the shape since i just wanted to take it easy and use the old eyes as a guide. there's still the other face plate which i may attempt to paint wider eyes onto someday

i repainted the gem and cleaned up the edges. the handle around the gem was very messy and it looks much cleaner now. i don't have a steady hand for painting, but, like the emblem, i think the gem looks pretty good at a distance

also removed that ugly foam from his broken arm. as much as i could at least, it was stupidly glued on and i didn't want to use acetone on it or anything in case it fucked up any of the paint, which i really did not want to risk as its the arm with the emblem lol. since the arm can't be posed anyways, i just krazy glued the pieces directly together

if I was rich I'd get another MK nendo to make into DMK. and a proper airbrushing setup. there's a lot I learned from my mistakes with the first one, and while I'm fairly happy with how he looks, he's barely holding together, so many of his joints have broken, he's crusty as hell and equal parts stiff and loose where it's least convenient, and i'm pretty sure the primer and paint adds just enough weight to give the magnets a hard time. one of his arm (hand?) joints snapped today and is unfixable due to each half being stuck inside the hand and pauldron pieces, I had to improvise with a piece of foam and super glue to get his hand to stay on in any capacity and it looks like shit lmao

still, despite all the flaws, when I catch a glimpse of him on my shelf it makes me happy. I'm not a very crafty person and I was still able to make a half decent custom on my first try, and of one of my dearest favourites no less
