I once took some of my work to a little portfolio day exhibition at a university when I was still in high school, where they had professors/admissions officers from a ton of different art schools across the country available to critique your work, and the only person I remember speaking to made some or another remark about how harsh/hard my contrast was (with the flat black/white sections) so hearing that it comes off as softer a few years down the line is certainly interesting!! I’m so glad to hear you enjoy my work, thank you again for saying so (and saying hello!)

where do you get most of your effects? You use them so beautifully and all I can find are edits of tonemap when I try to find beautiful ones.

My favourites effects are by Tamon, Harigane and Beamman. Concerning shaders, I like the ones by meshi_dane (GreenerShader). 

To answer your question more literraly, I just go trough the tags daily to see if something is new.
