OMG I want to stop at every rock they fly past. And some of the ice layers too. Original caption:
The Dufourspitze, 4634m/15,203ft (aka the Pointe Dufour or the Dufour peak) is the highest summit in Switzerland, second only to the Mont Blanc in the Alps. There are no less than ten main summits of +4000m which make up this Monte Rosa massif, so one is truly surrounded by an impressive number of big boys while up there.
As much as I love being on those rocks and glaciers, there is no better way to appreciate the scale and beauty of these natural wonders than from the air. What a treat to run down the glacier into the thin air and soar above all that rock those crevasses, past the Matterhorn all the way to Täsch in the valley below. Quite a day on the eve of the 1st of August, Switzerland's National Holiday!
