Tungkol sa “Happy Days” ng Dulaang Laboratoryo
Praise for UP Dulaang Laboratoryo's Happy Days by Samuel Beckett, with Kathleen Mack, Gabo Tolentino, Jen Darlene Torres, and Moira Chesca Ostrea!!
Mabuhay! Sa pagtapos ng Pirik Theater Festival (2019). Binuhay nila ang isang napaka-absurd na play ni Samuel Beckett na ang "Happy Days." Hatid sa inyo ng direktor na nagsagawa din ng isa pang Samuel Beckett play noong 2016 na itinanghal sa Dulaang Lab, ang “End Game.”
To have this play as an ending for a festival is absurd, funny, and greatly saddening. The great methapor of nearing the end of life, having lesser and lesser things to reach and do, while your friends and loved ones are dying and going away, until one day lalamunin na din tayong lahat ng lupa....
By Act 2 I was depressed, terrified, and I understood the boredom of Wendy that is their representation of a life and nearing its finish...and then we see the people we love again. Huhu. Ang sad. Pero ang beautiful. Haayyyyyyyyy(x1000)
I don't think maraming nakapag-review nitong dulang ito so ibubuhos ko na lahat ng pagmamahal. :)
Congratulations sa cast and artistic team of Happy Days! It must be thrilling to give life to the famous Winnie with her umbrella. Kathleen Mack's (thesis) performance as the lead-woman-half-buried-into-the-earth is ecstatic and brilliant! Sobrang bilib ako sa pagdala niya sa play without getting the audience bored. As well as Moira Chesca Ostrea's beautiful set design (thesis) of yummy cotton candy-like earth and Van Gogh-like mural painting on the walls! Nakakaaliw tignan. Congrats!
Syempre wala din ang ladies na nagsagawa ng dulang ito kung wala ang direktor nilang si Gabo Tolentino! Na isang Samuel Beckett enthusiast din according sa kanilang program Hahaha. They’re lucky to have gotten him as the director. Isang dream ang magtanghal ng dula ni Samuel Beckett, at yon ay masasabi kong kinaiinggitan ng madami! At sinubang hindi?
Kaya hindi ko maiiwanang hindi mapuri ang napakahusay na direksyon at pagtanghal ng Happy Days (2019), nina Gabo Tolentino at lahat ng nagte-thesis at tumulong. :)
