@dulceses asked: “when was the last time you ate?” - from tabris
Ellis hardly expected the question. Since the events following Ostagar, food had hardly been on the forefront of his mind. Waking up in the witch’s hut & being sent to battle the blight with three grey wardens, two mabari & an apostate hardly had any promising prospects. Each day seemed to blur with the last, turning into one steady cycle of carnage. There was always someone to fight or something the kill. The thought was hardly appetizing.
“ It’s been... a moment. “ he pauses to think while he speaks. He didn’t think he had eaten that morning & knew he had spent most of the evening before in his tent. Ellis wasn’t sure he knew the answer. A part of him feels he should be thankful for the other looking after his well being... but instead he felt shame settle in the bottom of his chest, festering in his chest. He was a grown man, he could look after himself.
Ellis presses his lips into a thin line, crossing his arms over his chest. His next words come out harsher than he means, “ Why does it matter? I’ll eat when I’m hungry. “
