The Duluth Model on the "Trivial Effect" of Domestic Violence Against Men
The Duluth model is used by law enforcement, court systems and other organizations to teach about domestic violence. It teaches that men who claim that they are being beaten should be doubted and discounted. Here’s a direct quote from the Duluth model website on the claim that women sometimes hit men:
“Many women who do use violence against their male partners are being battered. Their violence is used primarily to respond to and resist the violence used against them. On the societal level, women’s violence against men has a trivial effect on men compared to the devastating effect of men’s violence against women”

So according to the model, most men who claim they’re being attacked probably hit her first? And in any event, the violence is trivial.
