Reaction time that something is in front of him.

Analysing what's in front of him.

The start of a genuine reaction to his possible game over that he has been postponing for years.

Realization that it WILL be over, and that he should have done something different.

Genuine fear, probably preparing himself mentally if it's going to hurt get eaten by a huge cybug.

I don't think there's acceptance of his sudden game over. Or maybe what's crossing through his mind is how embarrassing game overing like this is.

Fear.

thinking ahead to wildbow’s sci fi serial and i really hope he can pull it off to be honest.

i’ve been seeing a lot of posts about this recently but i wanted to express my thoughts wrt pale and ward and how they differ from pact and worm. it seems like when wildbow returns to a setting he has to set up some kind of moral question, but almost lacks the perspective to do it well?

i havent read twig and am still early into pale but specifically this is about ward’s “ohh nooo we have to strand the evil villains alone on alt earths” and pale’s “uhhh guys what if the Others are actually an oppressed minority”

it almost feels like comparatively worm and pact do not try and ask/subvert these settings with these big questions and are more character driven. thats not to imply ward/pale characters are bad- it just feels like they take a backseat in favor of their relationships to these big questions- which is fine! it works okay (so far) in pale. ward less so but thats neither here nor there.

i dont know. maybe wildbow just cant write characters that are supposed to be in the moral right without doing some wacky bullshit like this. in fact so much of his work is about morality and idk. it feels like he struggles to pull it off??

in short: wildbow is a reddit shitlib who thinks he has to make subversive art with a MessageTM. and because he’s a cisgender heterosexual male these messages can be very IffyTM. His character/worldbuilding work is much stronger and he should focus on that rather then these big questions. if that makes sense.

If anyone knows the fable "The Fox and The Crow", the fox tricked the crow to sing in order to get the food (which was a cheese) from the crow's beak, and the fox ate it after the crow released the food from it's beak.

Perhaps, this is what happened between Sebastian and Undertaker right now, Unnie tried to trick Sebby to release Our!Ciel from him.

Considering Sebastian is claimed to be a crow demon and Undertaker's nickname is "Silver Fox” and both of them are mischievous in their own way, just like how fox and crow are usually known as mischievous trickster animals.

My brain: in *sense and insensitivity*, while King is talking to Pinñet, Pinñet asks king ‘so your name is king?’ To witch King responds ‘it’s more of a title then a name, but yes’; In *The Intruder* Luz calls King a Prince to which he responds ‘it’s King, I’m King’; And in a background Detail of *Lost In Language* there is a book titled ‘Barely a Duchess’. With all of these things in mind I have come to the conclusion that the Boiling Isles somehow has a concept of European Monarchy, wether it is simply one of those things that seeps through the realms, the isles just happening to develop a very similar or exactly the same system of monarchy some point in the past or if it has something to do with the fact that everyone there somehow speaks English

Heaven, Hell, and Purgatory

I just realized something about Undertale…

Asriel calls himself “the God of Hyperdeath.” Gods are from Heaven.

Chara calls themself “The demon that comes when you call its name.” Demons are from Hell.

Frisk is only ever referred to as “the human.” Humans live on Earth, which some people hypothesize is actually Purgatory, where we await judgment; and, based on how we live our lives, we will be sent to either Heaven or Hell.

If Frisk goes through the Underground with mercy in their heart (or, rather, SOUL) - sparing, befriending, and helping monsters - then they get to go to Heaven and see “God,” or Asriel.

If Frisk goes through the Underground murdering everyone in sight, then they get to go to Hell and see “the demon,” Chara.

But as long as Frisk keeps resetting, or even getting Neutral Endings repeatedly, then they will stay in Purgatory until they are deemed fit for either Heaven or Hell.

Interesting parallels, I think.
