Mario Maker looks amazing and I'm loving the amiibo skins...but they're also a bit disappointing. The fact you have to collect a Mystery Mushroom just to have one on, and getting hit means losing the skin, seems a bit annoying. I feel like how it should've worked is you can have the skin on from the beginning and getting hit kills you, but collecting a Mystery Mushroom will allow you to use an ability unique to the skin, for example: The modern colored Mario and Luigi act like how they would normally [go Super and, upon collecting a second ? Shroom, becoming Fire], Peach can glide, Yoshi can flutter, Toad can run even faster, Bowser gets to either shoot fireballs or blow a stream of fire [depending on how long the button is held], both Links can use their swords [but NES Link can point his sword down midair and bounce off of enemies a la Zelda II], Wario can do his shoulder bash, etc. And, of course, you get to take another hit.
