500 days in a row of #dutchlearning with @duolingo and I’ve come a long way since #ikbeneenappel! Still nowhere near where I’d like to be, but that comes with more practice and immersion. Swipe to see examples of my current lessons. I’ve only been teaching myself in my limited spare time. I’m lucky if I can fit in 15-20 minutes a day, unfortunately, or I might learn quicker. I do try to supplement with music and videos where I can, but it’s still difficult for me to form sentences I’m satisfied with on the fly and quickly enough in written conversation, due to my annoying tendencies towards perfectionism. I don’t think I have any problems with pronunciation but a native could probably judge that better than I can. I saw an interesting video that suggested I should approach conversation in the same way a baby does, and it gave me something to think about.
