I’d like to invite my friends in LA to check out opening night of "Durango 66", a surreal installation / performance piece by Teatro Linea de Sombra that attempts to tell many sides of the story of a student rebellion in Mexico in 1966, long since forgotten by history. The installation space is scattered with mini narratives, and can be experienced in any order, almost like a theatrical version of Julio Cortazar's "Rayuela”. There will be live music, seven tons of red soil, heavy machinery, obsolete technology, ghosts of the Cold Wars, and very possibly, beer. You need tickets to attend, but the fine people at REDCAT have made it a "pay what you will option" event. This is my seventh collaboration with TLS, and the second PST i’ve been lucky enough to be involved in. I'll be there providing the sound design. Presented as part of Pacific Standard Time LA/LA and Live Art LA/LA Performances from Tuesday, January 16, 2018 to Thursday, January 18, 2018 https://www.redcat.org/festival/lineadesombra #calartsredcat #pstlala #durango66 #teatrolineadesombra (at REDCAT - Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater)
