I didn’t get to try it last year but KFC’s Golden Durian Mochi (S$3.95 for 5 pieces) is back again from 21st March 2022. Though it resembled deep-fried sweet potato balls, the shell is actually made from mochi fried crispy on the outside but still chewy inside. The filling in the centre is D24 durian lava which oozes out as you sink your teeth into it and it is hot! The durian flavour tasted authentic enough for me to want to buy it again.

I went back for more of the addictive KFC’s Golden Durian Mochi (S$7.80 for 10 pieces) since this item is only available for a limited time. I assumed that they will pack it in a cardboard box as I bought 10 pieces but I was wrong. :( All the mochi balls went into a paper bag which is not good for presentation purpose. Seem like this KFC branch do it differently, unlike the other branches that pack them in boxes. Even though mum said that this isn’t as good as her chilled durian puffs, she still munched on a few pieces. Once you started popping it into the mouth, you won’t be able to stop at just one ball!
