This takes place after the hospital thread with Rumpelstiltskin on the night of AK6.
Jefferson was tired. He’d spent several hours in the hospital, a place he truly loathed, but stayed for Gold’s sake. Jefferson had shot him. It had been an accident, but the shot had woken the Dark One! As much as that could end up helping them all wake from the curse, he’d acquired a mass of guilt over his head with each passing day. What was a little more added to the heap?
So, late into the night, or it could have been the early morning hours of the next day, Jefferson drove home. His passenger seat was soaked in blood from the gunshot wound. He’d have to get that taken care of but later. As he drove, he punched in the commands for the car to call Emma. So strange that vehicles could sync with electronics, but he had neither the care or stamina to ponder over this world’s fancy gadgets. The phone call met her voicemail. It was likely after midnight, but she had called him almost a week prior. It was about time he called back. His tone remained dry in his exhaustion, and had nothing do do with the fact that he was only partially lying through his teeth. “Yeah, Emma. Jefferson. I’m calling about an incident on my property earlier tonight. Father MacAvoy was shot by Killian Jones in my yard. I spent most of the night at the hospital. He’s going to be fine, maybe... Not sure where Killian went. Good luck with your... sheriffing.” Click.
More pressing matters resided in the basement where he’d kept Killian captive for over six days. Grabbing a bottle of bleach and a bucket and sponge, Jefferson scrubbed the cement floor until the blood was gone. He tossed out the sponge and threw the dirty, bloody bucket water into the yard behind the house.
His proceeding actions were done automatically as if he could barely keep awake. Shower, dress, fall face down into bed. The rest of the basement’s storage room, the mattress, the linens, and torn apart shelf, the opened food storage, all would have to be dealt with and cleaned up after he’d gotten some rest.
