ANNUAL AUTUMN GALA

october comes swiftly that year, a change in temperature and the holiday season looming over the city. it’s in a spirit of tradition that black envelopes are sent to the doorsteps of new york city’s population on the first of the month, an ebony wax seal concealing printed cursive and red and gold-leaf decals. held in manhattan’s high council building, it’s the event of the year for the city’s civil servants and citizens alike — only matched in grandeur by the met gala, but held in a similar regard. it’s an opportunity to form connections, to network and meet intimately with city officials and those who seemingly run new york — ceo’s, business executives, company presidents.

as the ballroom is dusted off and adorned for the occasion, organizers ask that attendees don themselves in horror-themed attire, this year’s theme inspired by the upcoming halloween holiday. with themed food and drinks, the building is decorated by new york's finest event planners — orange and violet color accents, candelabras and faux spider webs dressed across chandeliers ; painted pumpkins and skulls, and a mist of fog coating the dance floor. 

it’s free to attend, the cost of a ticket spent instead on the black tie dress code, with monetary donations supporting local arts funds and charities. the invitation details to attend with open hearts, open minds, and dressed in your very best — and if that isn’t convincing enough, get in line for the open bar serving high-end cocktails and beverages. the night will conclude with a firework display on the rooftop of the high council building, a moment to ring in the autumn season and bask in the time of year said to bear new beginnings.

OOC INFORMATION

we thought an event would be a fun way to start the group ! this will begin when officially open : THURSDAY, OCTOBER 7 at 3:00 PM CST. the event will last for at least one week, with a group poll coming toward the end of the event to see how much longer everyone would like it to last for. we will provide a warning in at least 48 hours prior to the event ending so that everyone has time to begin to wrap up event-centric threads.

please keep all threads set during at the gala. once the event ends, you can continue event threads, but please do not start any new ones.

the event will be held in the high council building’s ballroom, concluding on the rooftop with a firework display. humans who do not know about the supernatural world have also been invited to keep up with appearances, so there’ll be no showing of powers during the party. remember to keep the party clean, and keep it fun.

the dress code is black-tie, but try to keep your muse’s outfits adhering to the spooky theme. feel free to share your outfits to the #DUSK:EXTRA tag, and send them to the #EDITS channel on discord. for inspiration, check out this pinterest board !

     Cian had decided to take a break from the overflowing activities at the Christmas market. No luck in the present for his wife except a few ideas that could possibly work if he had no other options. He still wanted a wow factor. It didn’t have to be big or extravagant, he was just picky. So, he paused his search when he finally had a warm drink in his hand (warmed apple cider to be exact) and a few wrapped snickerdoodle cookies. 

     He picked a spot on a bench before taking a sip from the drink, closing his eyes momentarily in bliss. It would’ve lasted longer if someone hadn’t interrupted. “Someone better be bleeding out or have a limb cut off for it to be more important than my cider.” ​

𝐍𝐄𝐖  𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑’𝐒  𝐄𝐕𝐄  𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐘  !

every year, rosamie lynn  ( ceo of lynn’s fashion & council member )  hosts a new year’s eve bash that makes all of new york city GREEN with envy as invitations are only doled out to the elite. rosamie’s party is both highly publicized and in the utmost confidence—photographers camp out all night to catch a glimpse of the fashion designer & her invitees entering the party, but only those with the golden ticket invitation get to see what actually lies inside. 

this year’s theme is simple :   BLACK & WHITE.  a fun irony when the guests in attendance are anything but... 

to get invited to rosamie’s annual new year’s eve event, you have to either be someone or KNOW someone. it’s never a night that ceases to amaze, and this year will be no exception. bring on 2022.

OOC INFORMATION : 

this event is going to go from sunday, december 26 at 12am est, and last until sunday, january 9 at 11:59pm est. if we need more time  ( or if everyone would like less time for the event )  we’re welcome to change it. 

please keep all new threads during this time at the event. you’re welcome to continue previous threads if you’d like, but the majority of the dash should be the event. 

the event will take place at rosamie lynn’s own private residence in manhattan. if you stand at the right angle on her terrace, you can see the ball drop from times square. formal attire required, please.
