The great thing about pionus is that they wheeze when they're happy, content, just chillin', and also when they have respiratory infections, which they are prone to. (And if you didn't know, flighted birds are like, 70% lung/airsac)
So since I started working from home fulltime again, Agnieszka has been spending lots more time with me, and she's gotten super fluffy and talkative and generally more excited about life because she's out of her cage most of the day and gets to help Mama work. (You know those staple-less Japanese staplers that fold the corners of paper together? She's got them beat with just her beak! So helpful.)
Today I look up, and she's got her head tipped back. Now, she COULD (and DOES) get into weird positions to look at my hanging plants and wall lights, but it could ALSO be what they call stargazing, or stargazer syndrome, which can be a sign of a sick bird. Her watery poops are very normal for her, because I feed her a mix of like, 50% fresh veggie chop and 50% pellets. But watery droppings can also be a sign of a sick bird.
I think I'm just being paranoid because I'm not used to being around her 24/7, and her behaviours have changed somewhat because I AM. I would rather not repeat the $200 "sweet potato in the nose" emergency vet visit, but I don't want to MISS something.
BIRB. Can't you just say "I'm fine!" or "I'm sick!"? Gimme a hint here!
