It's not like Dust chose this life. He didn't want to kill, but to be honest, what else was there to do? Plus, the sooner he eradicated the mutant determination monsters, the faster he would be safe to roam around. It'd be easier to explore, then, and he was running out of food. He'd need to leave Snowdin eventually to get other supplies. To he honest, he wasn't content but he wasn't unhappy either. Maybe that's just apathy, or his willingness to kill. He didn't really know, but then again it didn't really matter.
Dust doesn't remember much about his mother, but he misses her. So much.
