It was a beautiful night under the June New Moon. Something I hadn't considered affecting a long exposure was the number of fireflies flitting about making it more magical to the naked eye but crafting bright yellow streaks throughout my long exposure. The mosquitos were relentless for periodic short bursts of time but finally dissipated. Sitting, listening to the frogs and the nighttime sounds of the Wisconsin Northwoods waiting for the fireflies to settle made me realize what makes nighttime photography so rewarding.
