Silky Underwear dusting powder review!
Silky Underwear is scented with the fragrance of Fairy Jasmine bath bomb, and is made with jasmine absolute, vertiver oil, kaolin, and cocoa butter.
Silky Underwear has a special place in my heart for a myriad of reasons. Among the first being that it is a dusting powder! Like from the Victorian era! I adore some aspects that age very much, and dusting powders (along with waistcoats, frocks, canes, shaving sets, etc.) are one of the things from that era that I would love to see make a large comeback.
I always feel more like myself when I can use this dusting powder, and I hope to try more of them from Lush's line.
I personally feel at home at what might be two very opposite situations that dusting powder (and particularly this one, for its special home in my heart) bring together: the elegance and style of Victorian era clothing, bedding, foods, etc (silk sheets, down-filled bedding, finely tailored coats, wonderful pastries and teas) and the rugged, adventurous, free spirit of exploration, from deserts to rainforests that one has to survive in to live in.
Dusting powders are fantastic for both of those situations and mindsets. It goes on smoothly to where ever you need extra protection from perspiration, and it completely prevents any chafing.
A great treat for yourself if you ever need one, I think, is to lightly dust where ever your skin touches (even occasionally, like inner knees and elbows and even between toes for best effect!) before you lie down to nap or sleep. This dusting powder feels fantastic, and it lasts such a long time.
It goes beautifully onto clothes and bedding. Some people freak out for whatever reason that powder doesn't magically absorb into sheets (... what?) but just rub it in a little if it's that bothersome to you. You'll be fine. It even washes out, I promise.
Regardless, it's wonderful to use even inside of duffel bags or back packs if you need a whiff of something great-smelling, and even better if you're carrying clothes, bedding, or plushies in those bags... the smell and soft powder will transfer! (And it does make skin wonderfully soft)
If you're feverish, hot, or worried that you might have nightmares, Silky Underwear is great to put where ever you're sleeping beforehand. It helps absorb some moisture, and I find the scent relaxing.
To use and save as much as you can of this dusting powder: turn the top to closed! A manageable amount will come out then. :)
