My favorite lush baths✨
Luxury Lush Pud (Christmas 2014)
no offense but do you have hoarder tendencies?
In this case it’s not a case of hoarding, but rather a case of working at a LUSH store for over a year. I have another job, and I’m also a full time student, so stuff tends to pile up due to disuse because I only have about three hours of free time a week. I don’t have the opportunity of taking as many baths as I would like to. I keep the nicer bath bombs so I can take videos of them and gif them for my lovely followers.
This is a pretty rudely worded question but I’m still going to thank you for taking the time to ask it. Have a nice night/day!
In case anyone was in doubt regarding my obsession with LUSH products. I swear I don’t have a problem.
Hey I'm just wondering what Lord of Misrule exactly smells like? I've been curious for probably the past four months. Does it smell like karma or does it smell more like something else?
I really love Lord of Misrule. Whenever it comes back to LUSH I’m always getting four or five.
It’s one of the spicier bombs, more reminiscent of Phoenix Rising than Karma (even though Karma and Lord of Misrule have similar patchouli notes). It’s scented with patchouli and black pepper. It’s very smoky. There’s also a sweet vanilla absolute note in it, keeps it from getting too dark. It’s a very earthy scent and they sometimes have the perfume of it in the LUSH Kitchen.
Thanks for the question!
Do you know of any bath bombs that would be good for sensitive skin without any nut oils? I haven't tried any because I'm terrified of breaking out into a rash or having an allergic reaction to nut oils...
This is a really common problem! My best friend has nut allergies as well, and a lot of little kids come in with nut problems so I’m very versed in this.
If you go to LUSH right now, you might be able to pick up a Rose Bombshell, which is a Mother’s Day exclusive bath bomb. It has a lovely light floral scent and is FILLED with lots of dried rose petals.
If you’re sensitive to colored dyes, I would suggest, as always, the Butterball. Butterball’s ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate , Citric Acid , Fair Trade Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao) , Synthetic Musk , Ylang Ylang Oil (Cananga odorata) , Fragrance. That’s literally it. The ylang ylang and cocoa butter make it smell sweet and almost vanilla-y. It gives you a creamy white bath and that cocoa butter will make your skin very soft.
I would also suggest the Honey Bee bomb. It’s full of honey and rhassoul mud to calm and hydrate your skin, and smells sweet and rich. Gives you a beautiful creamy yellow bath. No almond oil in that one either.
In general I would avoid the bubble bars because a lot of them tend to include almond oil as a softener to counteract the sulfates that might dry out or roughen skin.
Have fun! Thanks for the question.
Can dusting powders be safetly used 'down there'?
Absolutely! They’re just based in cornstarch. Silky Underwear is full of grated cocoa butter and a lovely jasmine/vetivert scent. Really good for chafing. I would only be wary about the glittery powders because of their lingering tint and glitter (that means Lustre).
What are the best products for little kids? + my girls love pink and purple, if you can direct me to some products of that color, that would be great!! Xx
LUSH has a lovely product called FUN, which is a four-in-one product. It’s a soap, shampoo, bubble bar -- and moldable clay (think Play-Doh)!
It comes in a variety of colors (red, blue, green, yellow and pink) and scents. The red is like a mandarin orange spice, the blue is a calming chamomile, the green is a zesty lime, the yellow is a soothing vanilla, and the pink is a sweet tonka.
Two other bubble bars that are very kid-friendly and also make a lovely pink bath are The Comforter and Creamy Candy. The Comforter makes a deeper pinkish-purple bath, with a gorgeous bergamot-blackcurrant candy perfume. It’s one of LUSH’s most popular items. Creamy Candy makes a creamy pink bath because it’s loaded with little chunks of cocoa butter. It has a super-sweet cotton candy perfume with vanilla notes.
If you’re looking for bath bombs, I would suggest the Sex Bomb (if you’re uncomfortable with that name for your kids, sometimes we dub it the Flower Bomb). Sex Bomb is a jasmine bomb, with a little melty pink flower on the top. It’ll give you a lovely pink-purple bath, and its clary sage, soya milk and ylang ylang are great for getting you sleepy and relaxed.
Kids in my experience also love the Pink bomb, which, obviously, creates a pink bath. It has little pink heart confetti as well! Makes for a cute, fun bath, scented with tonka, vanilla and neroli oil.
If you’re not looking for bath products, LUSH also has two soaps that really appeal to kids that happen to be pink: The Godmother, which smells like the famous candy sweet Snow Fairy shower gel that LUSH has during the holiday, and Rock Star, which is sugary-sweet bubblegum vanilla realness.
Little kids also seem to love the Bubblegum lip scrub that has castor sugar and jojoba oil to make their lips really soft. It’s entirely edible and tastes (obviously) like bubblegum.
Thanks for the question! Hope this helps out. xo
Hi everyone !!!
Right now in Japan it’s 3/11, that’s the day the huge earthquake hit and thousands of people died and lost their homes so please just take a min and go to http://yahoo.co.jp and search “3.11” in the search bar and you will donate 10 yen 💴for reconstruction assistance !!
A 10-yen donation will be made for each user who searches for “3.11” between midnight and 11:59 p.m. on March 11.
In addition to this super easy task, I know y’all love LUSH and their bath bombs but have you guys heard about FUN?
FUN is a four-in-one product (soap, shampoo, bubble bar and moldable clay) that’s really cute and comes in five varieties of color and scent. But what’s most important is that they donate 2.5% of proceeds to the FUNd, which benefits the construction of play areas for children in Fukushima. And you get to have a pretty bath.
I used the Avobath bath bomb, and it smells really familiar, like I've smelled it in other LUSH products before? Are there any other products that have a familiar scent that you know of?
Yeah!!
The Avobath bath bomb to me smells JUST like the Stepping Stone foot scrub! It’s the lemongrass oil in both of them. They also smell like Froot Loops to me. Maybe that’s weird? I love them both.
Thanks for the question!
EDIT:
lunettescassees replied to your post:“I used the Avobath bath bomb, and it smells really familiar, like I’ve…”:
Dragons egg is also lemongrassy
Very true!! If you can find Dragon's Egg anywhere (our store has been out of it for a while now) that would be another option to try.
Do massage bars stain skin/clothing? I have one that is pink but I wanted to know if the colored ones do before using it and being near my white bed sheets or anything.
Whenever I've used the massage bars, they don't stain! If you have a pink one, I'm guessing you have Strawberry Feels Forever, which hasn't stained my things before.
The only ones that leave a tint or a shimmer would be Shimmy Shimmy or Black Stockings, which are both intended to leave tints in the first place.
Thanks for the question.
LUSH's Blackberry bath bomb
Are bath bombs difficult to clean up after?
It depends on the bomb, but for the most part if you have a porcelain or glass tub it will wash right down the drain without any major cleanup! The glittery bath bombs might take a little longer, but in my experience it never takes more than a few minutes of flushing the tub with water.
Some tubs (especially plastic ones) do have a tendency to be dyed by the bombs. Maybe do a little test by breaking off a part of your bath bombs and see if it dyes the tub before doing the whole bomb. If that happens, I would suggest using only half a bomb or less at a time instead of its entirety, or maybe trying out the bubble bars (which are based in sulfates, a cleansing agent) instead.
Thanks for the question!
So I have extremely dry, damaged hair. I have a ton of split ends and that isn't even an exaggeration. When I was around 9 I thought washing my hair was too much work and I hated it. So I barely washed my hair. Then I got older and realized how dumb I was. Now I wash my hair every other day and I still have a lot of split ends. What LUSH products could help me?
I still think that you may be washing your hair too often! I wash my hair every 2-3 days, because I have very curly hair and overwashed, dry curls are not a good look on anyone. If it gets greasy on your scalp inbetween washes, just use dry shampoo (of which LUSH has a FANTASTIC version). Sprinkle on the scalp and you're done.
LUSH does have a split end treatment (Shine So Bright) which has a lot of nourishing oils like coconut and olive to help keep hair strong and shiny. It has eggs in it for strength (so it isn't vegan unfortunately). You could use that on your ends. In general you want to have a really good conditioner and moisturizing shampoo. I would suggest Godiva shampoo bar, which has huge chunks of cocoa butter in it to keep you moisturized, and then using H'Suan Wen Hua (hair treatment) once a week. H'Suan Wen Hua is a total life-saver. Full of eggs for strength, vinegar for shine, and tons of moisturizing butters and oils like avocado, bananas and olive oil.
Thanks for the question, and good luck!
A few days ago I got the Pearl massage bar, I used it once and for about 3 hours my skin was super greasy. Is there any way that I can fix that, I guess I would say, like maybe their dusting powders? I just don't know what to do!
Definitely the dusting powders. I never use a massage bar without using a dusting powder afterwards. The massage bars are all based in cocoa butter and sometimes shea butter -- Pearl has both! Shea butter is the one that might be making you feel a little emollient. I'd recommend Vanilla Puff Powder to go with that particular bar to keep your skin soft and matte and not greasy.
