Da Vinci’s Demons Fest Day 7: Freeform
Intro post to the Fest
Last day!! I made a small vid, hope you guys enjoy it!
Da Vinci’s Demons The Lion King AU
Consider it a late entry to the Fest!
I asked for prompts almost a year ago and only went around them now...I think that DvD/TLK mashup was @bluecoattallmadge‘s idea, and it came into realisation thanks to @meridianrose who told me I didn’t need to make it fic. So I combined the three things I love the most, which are Da Vinci’s Demons, Disney’s Hamlet retelling and dubious photomanip skils! Enjoy!
Da Vinci’s Demons Fest Day 6: Headcanon/AU Part 3/3
Intro post to the Fest
Part 1 Part 2
And I’ll end up with A Knight’s Tale AU!
Leo has always been fascinated by discovery, and especially by the Book of Leaves, which his mentor, Andrea del Verrochio, always said could help a man change his stars. When he learns that the mystical Book is the price of a jousting tournament, Leo decides to participate, even if he is a commoner.
Having won one joust after disguising himself as a knight, Leo is convinced he can win more jousts and, eventually, the Book. As he prepares to leave with Nico, his friend and squire, they cross path with Zoroaster, a “self-made man” with a serious gambling problem, who forges a nobility certificate, thus securing a place in the jousts for Leo.
Their first stop is Florence, where Leo meets Vanessa, a resourceful blacksmith who helps him forge the practically indestructible armour and accurate weapons Leo has had in mind for years. Protected by it, Leo wins most of the jousts and makes his way closer to the finals in Rome and to the ultimate prize.
But Leo isn’t the only one hoping to win the Book of Leaves. Count Riario wants it for himself and is also interested in Leo’s armour and weapons. Riario confronts Leo in the lists, confident he’ll win against the inexperienced and insufferable brat who’s been daring to vie for the affections of his cousin, Lucrezia Donati.
Da Vinci’s Demons Fest Day 2: Favorite Ship
Intro post to the Fest
I went crack because I don’t like most of the canon ships anymore, so I chose Leoaster and Zoario.
Zo had been watching Leo struggling with a string of Christmas lights for about five minutes like a kitten playing with a ball of yarn. It had been fun at first, but now, Leo was in a really bad position, the wires all tangled up around him.
“That’s not how it works, you dumbass,” Zo said as he walked into the living room, trying his best not to grin widely at Leo’s misfortune.
“I built a flying machine from scratch. I can deal with those stupid…”
As he spoke, he gave a firm pull on one of the wire and only managed to get himself further entangled in the lights. “Fuck.”
“That’s my line,” Zo teased.
He reached for what seemed to be the loose end of the string and looked up to the mess Leo had gotten himself into.
“You’d look pretty, with the lights on. Lots of colours.”
“Don’t you dare,” Leo warned.
Zo grinned again and got to freeing Leo. That proved more difficult than planned. The wires were strong and wrapped so tight it was tedious to move them around. Zo wondered how Leo was still breathing.
After much heaving and panting and cursing, Leo was still trapped. And so was Zo, now. At least, they were in this together.
“How long before Nico gets home?” asked Leo in a voice that sounded almost desperate.
“He’s staying at Vanessa’s tonight.”
“Fuck.”
“Wait, you don’t want to celebrate Christmas? Jesus will be pissed you don’t celebrate his birthday.”
Riario considered Zo a moment, hesitating between explaining the Christian lore behind Christmas to him or smothering him with a pillow.
“Not really…” he said instead, idly patting the couch’s fabric. “Christmas...never brought good memories. I haven’t celebrated it in years.”
Zo propped his arms under his neck and stared at the ceiling. “Fuck. I really wanted to kiss you under the mistletoe.”
Riario concealed a smile. “You can kiss me now, if you want.”
Zo shot him a triumphant grin before he rose and pressed his lips on Riario’s.
“Still not changed your mind about Christmas?” Zo muttered between two kisses.
“Not yet. Though you are making a compelling argument. I might yield if you carry on…But if you invite my father, prepare for someone to get stabbed.”
Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed it :)
For @zephfair :3 "A boat?" "A boat," Zo said again, shamelessly proud of the look of surprise on Leo's phase. "I didn't know you liked sailing." "It almost hurt that, after so many years of friendship, you still remember so little about me!" Zo let out a sigh of fond exasperation.
