Karkat: (hindi) Is one of those rage critic youtube channels but reviews hallmark and lifetime movies as well as big budget romcoms and bollywood films.

Rose: (black/white biracial) Runs a knitting and book review channel. Loves horror and fantasy. Occasionally does old cheesy horror movie collabs with her cousin Dave. Also does fashion/makeup collabs with Kanaya and they end up getting married. It’s livestreamed of course.

Dave: (albino!white) Reviews movies ironically. Also does more serious music tutorial videos. Does a weekly movie collab with his boyfriend (later husband) Karkat.

John: (hispanic/korean) Runs a movie and comedy channel. Specializes in Nicolas Cage-esque action and comedy movies. Does a monthly collab with Dave and Karkat that almost always goes viral.

Kanaya: (black) Runs a popular fashion and makeup tutorial channel. She and Rose flirt like crazy over their instagram pages, and eventually you ser Kanaya wearing hand knit clothes and Rose wearing makeup.

Dirk: (white) Does lets plays of really obscure games that are in the bowels of the internet. Also does electronics tutorials.

Roxy: (latina) Does lets plays of big sprawling fantasy games like Skyrim, Zelda and Dragon Age. Her commentary is hilarious and she does collabs with just about everyone.

Eridan: (white) Runs a vlog with one subscriber (Feferi). Then he decides to review historical movies and books due to getting a history degree and his follower count finally rises.

Feferi: (hawaiian/black) Runs livestreams of aquariums and does aquarium and fish care tutorials. Also does personal life vlogs since she lives in Hawaii.

Nepeta: (chinese) Does ridiculously long livestreams of her cats. That’s it. When she’s older (like late teens early twenties) she does survival/outdoor living videos.

Gamzee: (latino) Plays those weird knock off games like pregnant elsa goes to the dentist and shit…completely unironically.

Tavros: (latino) Doesn’t have a channel for awhile, until his zookeeper internship kicks off. (He wants to be a veterinarian) Also dresses up for Gamzee’s videos.

Vriska: (white) Comments over video games she plays about other youtubers…like Terezi and John. Once she hits 18 she begins doing poker videos.

Sollux: (korean/white) Makes technological review videos that are simply informative. Occasionally Aradia or Feferi will join in for more popular products.

Aradia: (pakistani/japanese) She does videos about the latest archeological and paleontological finds. She collabs with Sollux and Feferi sometimes.

Jade: (filipino/cuban) Does physics and chemistry info videos, as well as dog videos since her family runs a famous dog kennel. Occasionally does movie review videos with Karkat and Dave and hunting videos with Jake.

Jake: (white australian) Does movie review videos where every one gets five stars. Also does hunting videos with his cousin Jade.

Jane: (black) Does the BEST cooking videos. Very popular and occasionally will do collabs with Gamzee who loves baking.

Terezi: (irish) “Reviews” Karkat and Vriska’s videos with sarcastic five star ratings. Also makes videos that review famous court cases and the latest legal goings on.

btw i'm sorry i sent you that soulbonding ask, i just saw you in the tag and thought "WELL THIS SEEMS LIKE A QUALIFIED PERSON TO ASK" without really going any further than that. sorry if i made you uncomfy with that random question or anything

ah thats okay!! i really don’t mind discussing it except that id really rather not actually talk to the t//ulpa or sou/l/bonding folks because we dont get along haha.. and id rather not hear them defend their appropriation/send me more anon hate

is it bad that i dont think tulpamancers/soulbonders are that bad as long as they treat it more like having imaginary friends, instead of acting like walking DID fetishists.

uh idfk. i haven’t seen one treat them like imaginary friends, all the ones i’ve seen have appropriated DID/OSDD terminology (fronting, system, alters, etc.) and they group themselves in with DID as part of the “system community” and some of them constantly try to compare their t/ulpa (which THEY made up on purpose) to having a mental illness.

because of this, I don’t agree with the t/ulpa community as a whole. however i am aware that some people use it as a coping mechanism for a real disorder, especially schizophrenic people, who use it as a form of auto-hallucinatory training. in this specific situation, i guess wouldn’t have anything against the t/ulpamancer in question so long as they didn’t appropriate DID.

buuuut that’s usually not the case, given that the community on tumblr as a whole is really shit and appropriates DID left and right. people who follow in their footsteps are bound to pick up our terminology and use it for themselves.

it’s really a case-to-case thing in the end, i guess.
