Sean every time a camera is on him
i will do show notes every time because I must. not because anyone wants them. ANYWAY
The Lost Boys Show Notes, 6/20, 2 PM. Sold out performance according to ushers I overheard!!!! All ensemble and main cast was the same/assigned roles.
This was my first (and for now only) experience in the back of orch. (Also my first time going alone, which meant I could have INSANE stim reactions and thank god for that.) Still very very good view except you do lose the 3rd tier and some flying moments, but nothing major. I am going back Thursday one more time before I go to my seasonal job out of state in MA (that ticket was purchased well before this one oops), but will be up in the mezz again. The fuckery happening in orch is insane and I am a changed man. 3rd time around and I am...this show...god...
First of all I just really love the soundscape of this show and every time I have gone its just so insane to get lost in. I'm talking orchestration and sound effects. I really admire how they filled the space to also fill the genre. It's just so insane. Tbh and no shade to ragtime, we should have won that sound design tony.
Second, it is physically impossible not to become David pilled and blinded in orch. good god. I was. I was blinded. I had to force myself to look anywhere else any time he was on stage. I'm usually FAIRLY david pilled but this was on a level unknown to me previously.
ENTRANCESSSSSSS CLAPSSSSSSS GIVE IT UUUP FOR TONY AWARD WINNERS SHOSHANA BEAN AND ALI LOUIS BOURZGUI AAAAAA
Parko side-hug in boys intro scene you are everything to me keep it up <3
he is huffing that handkerchief i swear to god. stop it. oh my god dude. stop huffing that shit. fuck. over the shoulders too now??? evil.
Pete's death from orch is fucking insane, man, i literally!!!! AAAAA!
I never notice it in mezz or balc but David mouthing "attaboy" in the motorcycle scene!!!! AAAA!!! also motorcycle scene is much less funny looking on orch level. Lmfao.
"Ah, I like you, Michael" was so low and growly I literally had to grip the armrest to recover. It was in the fucking basement. He wanted me dead.
I like that in between seeing it I'm liable to forget exactly the little moments Ali plays David as 90. Like, he does, and you can SEE it if you're watching him in the fact that sometimes it does in fact hurt him to move or he gets stiff. This isn't even really a show note and this is in general obvious but I just needed to appreciate it in writing.
(edited in later on my b guys sorry I try to remember things and forget easy) the BRIDGE SCENE FROM ORCH IS INSANE. like you have to understand from above it's really fun and cool but from orchestra it is LITERALLY. LIKE. THEY. ARE FALLING. INTO THE ABYSS.
SCO body stroking is diabolical and we should cancel him for it.
general s/o to Paul Nolan I was giving him a little more of my attention today than normal and I fucking HATE max but the way he plays him IS undeniably charismatic.
Crane kick in NMM reprise you are my favorite probably not unintentional 80s movie reference <3 karate kid era me appreciates it deeply.
s/o Sean's acting while Paul's getting murdered, that man is fighting for his life against garlic to the eyes.
Speaking of Paul. "You killed Marko" actually can and will destroy me now that I've jumped the parko bandwagon, and god okay Dean deliver it like that whatEver i don't CARE! I do not CARE!
That fucker mouthed Michael again. I hate him.
I'm probably insane but I almost cried so much today. This show is so beautiful. God. I also did have like genuine tears during Make It Through the Night. I never make it through the night.
Saturday Mat audience was very receptive to the campy-aspects of act 2, which I found really entertaining and interesting. Like, people are usually receptive, but I think an influx of families means people in general are going to be more accepting of the silliness. and we LOVE
OH ALSO DAVID LOOKING DOWN AT MAX'S HAND NOW BEFORE HE LOOKS AT MAX IS SUCH AN EVIL CHOICE HE IS EVIL AND AS I HAVE STATED BEFORE NOW HE WANTS ME DEAD. I CANNOT. TEARS. THIS SHOW. OH MY GOD.
I stagedoored as is my habit and yes Sat mat meant smaller stage door, but I saw Brian again and told him Marko's my 2nd favorite, to which he went "Thank you, and who's the first?" And I did just say "David, unfortunately" but like genuinely look at me man. Its gonna be David. My queer ass? c'mon you know who it's gonna be. I should make it v clear Marko getting 2nd place is an insane honor for anyone to climb out of the mass of vampire polycule that the boys are to me, so. Maybe I'll get the balls to ask what guitar brand is Marko's favorite next week if he stagedoors again.
Somebody draw Dwayne in this shirt
No bc imagine musical Dwayne with a tramp stamp "If found return to David Powers"...
look me in the eyes and tell me Dwayne [tlbm] wouldn't unironically love "I'm In Love With My Car"
So how do we feel about musical Dwayne x Marko...
