To commemorate the launch of their new agave-infused malt beverage, Oculto, Anheuser-Busch-InBev, and media agencies Mother NYC and GranDesign hired projection mapping innovators Integrated Visions Productions to transform the enormous 360 ft tall façade of the InterContinental Hotel in Miami, FL into a dynamic projection-mapped display. The display, one of the largest experiential marketing activations so far this year, featured a series of trompe l’oeil illusions and eye-catching effects, followed by the brand’s sultry, seductive imagery. To bring the structure to life on such a massive scale, Integrated Visions teamed up with projection giant DWP Live and the makers of the incredible d3 media server.
Nine 26,000 lumen Barco projectors were used to illuminate the giant surface, rigged below on a mobile stage platform in Bayfront Park provided by SBI-Siegfried’s Basement. A single d3 media server, one of the company’s new 4x4 units, drove signal to all nine of the Barco projectors. This single source system, along with the incredible suite of tools included by d3, helped to cut down load-in time and streamline the entire process. Due to the magnitude of the execution, d3 was on site right next to DWP Live, providing additional tech support and consultation where needed.
