you have to submit your application via your muse's account! it's a lot less confusing for us that way. if you're applying with an additional muse whose blog is a sideblog, you'd submit from your original muse's account.

we're a bit slow at the moment, but it's a busy time of year, so we aren't worried. we intend to stick around through the sleepy and energized times regardless, so we'd be happy to have you join us! plenty of our members also haven't rped on tumblr in a long time, so you wouldn't be alone on that front, either. the members are very kind in our experience, and there are plenty of people here who can help you get the hang of things again if you need it!

this is correct—no two muses can have the same primary ability and even abilities with different names have to be different enough in their applications that they’re not essentially the same anyway. for example, muses with shadow manipulation and shadow constructs may be to coexist if shadow manipulation focuses on applications like shadow camouflage, shadow puppetry, shadow teleportation, etc. and does not necessarily solidify them into solid objects like shadow constructs would.
overlap is allowed with secondary abilities, however secondary abilities should be extremely nerfed compared to the power of a primary ability. so with our shadow manipulation example, as a secondary ability they may only be able to use partial camouflage (or can only disappear for a handful of seconds at a time) and dim the lights slightly, not the full extent or power of the ability.
Would manipulation of fire / “pyrokenesis” be an allowed ability?

i don’t think anyone would be comfortable interacting with them, among a few other problematic idols. while they don’t technically fall under our current guidelines for banned faceclaims, we strongly advise against using them.
hi! i feel like there's quite a lot of powers taken and it's hard to figure out what ones might overlap with powers existing members already have. would you be able to list some powers that aren't claimed we could apply for? or powers that would be allowable in the rp that you'd like to see? thanks!!
i think almost all of the powers i suggested in a previous ask are still available!
as for a few additional ideas, we haven’t seen too many mimicry abilities yet (flame mimicry, smoke mimicry, animal mimicry, slime mimicry, etc.). these are shapeshifting powers that differ from the “manipulation” abilities.
powers involving more physical/visible mutations may be interesting to play with too, like permanent dermal armor or scales, additional limbs, permanent wings, etc.
these are just a few ideas off the top of my head! i’m happy to brainstorm more if needed.
are there any other jobs muses can have within the dmho? like apart from guardians?
it’s possible that there are muses who work in the d.m.h.o. headquarters as janitorial staff, receptionists/secretaries, engineers who help develop tools to assist the guardians, marketing and pr jobs, personal trainers and medical staff, analysts, and probably more i can’t think of off the top of my head right now.
a lot of the higher level positions (directors, head engineers, etc.) will be saved for npcs. from an in-character perspective it’s very difficult for a mutagen to be trusted with a government leadership position so the d.m.h.o. leadership is primarily non-mutagenic humans.
Any chance we getting a group of villains to combat the guardians at some point?
there will likely never be an organized group of villains created solely to combat the guardians.
district x isn’t meant to be a black and white superhero vs villain story; it’s more designed to simply be a dystopian mutant universe. the guardians aren’t necessarily heroes; they’re a government organization meant to use mutagens as weapons and tools and to influence public opinion. to some they might be the bad guys after all, depending on your perspective. sure, there’s guardians who genuinely want to help their community and get into it for good reasons, but the government in this universe is being oppressive towards mutagens and the guardians are complicit in these policies. they’re essentially superpowered cops.
all that said, there will be other antagonists in future events, and all muses are welcome to oppose the guardians for any reason. i just want to make it clear that this is not a simple heroes vs villains story!
