Desert X @_desertx 💥 finally here! • Founded to connect desert communities and cultures through contemporary art, Desert X AlUla is an exhibition taking place in the landscape of the historically significant rich desert region of AlUla, northwest Saudi Arabia, which is home to the country’s first UNESCO world heritage site • Desert X AlUla adds new layers to the region’s future as an open, living museum that inspires creativity, understanding, and dialogue • This exhibition fosters artistic exchange and cultural dialogue across continents, moving towards a more inclusive future through art. • The exhibition brings together 14 artists from Saudi Arabia and around the world presenting large-scale installations that respond to the landscape and specific conditions of the desert. • Desert X AlUla is co-curated by Saudi curators and contemporary art specialists Raneem Farsi, Aya Alireza, and Desert X Artistic Director Neville Wakefield.
