I made my dad do Dy's test to see if he was an Alpha, Beta or Omega.
Dad is an Alpha too. Imma make my mom make the test to see as well, just for funsies. I think it's fun to see how our "omegaverse family tree" would be hahaha.

How do you know if you are an omega or an alpha?
Here, have three tests I always refer to whenever someone asks me about it: [Test 1], [Test 2], [Test 3].
They pretty fun ones. I often just go with the result of the Test 1, cause I like this test the best. Besides, you can get conflicting results in each one, so just go with the one you think describes you better. If you think Test 1 didn't describe you quite well, well then go with test 2, or 3.
I can only give you generic "consensus" characteristics of each dynamics, but if I do that, there's always gonna be someone that'll feel the need to be like "but that's stereotyping" or "but I'm a *insert dynamics here* and I'm not like that", even though I never said that's 100% of any dynamics or that there aren't outliers and exceptions. So yah know, Imma just spare myself this headache. So just go with whatever you want really.
How do you know if you’re a beta?
Every time someone asks me about how to figure their dynamics I never know how to properly answer, cause I don’t even know how I decide on dynamics for people/characters most of the time. Like, I can explain why I see a person/character in particular as a certain dynamics, but I can’t for the life of me come up with a consistent definition for any of the three dynamics. I guess it’s cause I don’t really think there is one to begin with. But here, I’ll link you two my “what makes a Beta” post plus Dy’s test. Maybe it will help.
IDK if anyone has asked you about this before but i recently took a quiz to see if I'm a Beta, Alpha, or Omega; expecting Omega but when the results popped up it said i was a Beta. I felt confused since I'm a person who is socially awkward, hates making decisions, hates people (not to be mean, more of a anxiety problem) and basically a introverted person all together, I was hoping if you could explain this for me, sorry for the long request.
The best explanation I can give to you isthat: People are different. My sister too thought she was definetly an Omega(to which I agree), but she always gets Beta in the tests. Don’t take thesetests much in account for anything, you know. They are just for fun, not thesorting hat from Harry Potter lol. Besides, wanting to match ourselves with arbitrarily craftedarchetypes it’s something that is bound to not always lend on the mark. We don’t live in anABO world, so ofc we’re not gonna always match our creations. If you feellike you’d be an Omega, then that’s all there is to it. As long as you’re havingfun and happy with your choice, it’s all A-Okay. But if you’re still not satisfied with my answer you can takeDy’s test. As I said it’s not gonna be 100% fail proof, but there’s sixdifferent results in it. So there’s more wiggle room for different types ofeach dynamics. Sensitive Beta is one of these results, it is similar to Omega, but it is still a Beta result nonetheless. I’ll leave the link to it here in case you want it.
A Little Bit on Alphas
So since everyone is taking Dy’s test lately (btw you can check it out right here) I decided to speak a little bit about Alphas, seeing as I’m one of the few content creators here that was classified as an (Classic) Alpha… Twice.
“Alphas are the most agressive and strongest out of all Dynamics” - I’m certain most of us have this as the go-to definition whenever we hear the word Alpha. But I think this can cause some misconceptions.
(PN- This will be entirely on my personal perspective and opinions - aka according to my ptpverse - you don’t have to agree to it or see this as some kind of absolute truth. Remember there is no such thing as absolute truths when it comes to Omegaverse).
• Not the ones to seek for pointless fights: Most depictions of Alphas have them as being very energetic and dying to pounce on someone’s throat at the slightest offense. Sure, this might be the case when they are very young and not yet very well socialized, but I like to think that Alphas wouldn’t go looking for fights just for the sake of it. I think that the “most agressive” part of it would be more fitting to the intensity of their fights when they occur and not to the frequency they happen. I think Omegas would be much more likely to get nervous and engage into petty and meaningless fights (on the eyes of an Alpha) than Alphas and Betas. Alphas are expected to be good leaders and the foundation and stepping-stone to their families/packs. Engaging into petty fights can not only put them in danger, but also their pack, so they try to avoid anything that might affect their loved ones directly or indirectly. So in other words I think that Omegas are more likely to get agressive (verbally more than physically) whilst Alphas are more intense on their agression but tend not to enter conflicts so often.
• Not the ones to whine about injustice and inconveniences: Is not that Alphas don’t get pissed off or frustrated with certain disadvantages they might encounter in life. They are just not as likely to whine about how the world is unfair and unbalanced like Omegas and Betas do. Omegas and Betas usually argue their problems away, Alphas on the other hand rather take upon themselves to endure and prove to others how wrong they are through their actions. In most Alpha’s minds, a problem is not solved by saying how wrong or how different reality is from expectations. It is only solved when they suck up all the bullshit people throw at them and prove that their expectations are of no concern for their actual success. Alphas think that the only way to improve their own future and the future of those similar to them is by being upstanding on the position they hold. They strive for success and perfection regardless of other’s opinions. For an Alpha does not quiver before obstacles and adversities, they overcome them.
• Do not hold as much power as you might think: Alphas are usually depicted in many works as the source of oppression and the ones that hold the majority of the powerful positions in society. But really I think this would be a little far from the truth. Think about it. If both Betas and Omegas are seen as physically and historically inferior to Alphas logically speaking with the passage of time laws would rather cater to the oppression of these two groups on the face of an “Alpha dominated society” rather than the other way around. As a result, Alphas would probably be the group with the least legal rights, and the ones to be treated more harshly by the law enforcement system, because they are automatically seen as a potential threat. Omegas wouldn’t be the ones with the most rights either. Historically speaking Female Omegas would hold “more power” than Betas. So it’s only natural that throughout the years having Betas composing the majority of the chairs on law jurisdiction (on a global generalization) and being the biggest demographic in the world as a whole, laws and regulations would cater much more to Betas than anyone else. For they are seen in disadvantage in different aspects in regards to the other two dynamics. If this statement is actually true or not is up to debate.
• Not always the leaders: Talking about History it would be more convenient for a numerous Beta society to want to keep political and religious leaders on their side as much as possible. Many works depict Alphas as being the obvious Kings and Empresses of nations; and while I don’t deny that makes sense I’d like to argue that Betas would not be far behind on this account. Not as many King Betas existed as Alphas, but the ones who did where just as good if not more prosperous than many Alphas. Beta History is nothing if not cunning; Betas would choose to never overstep an Alpha (or a Omega on the female case) because it was easier to put things to their liking like that. The Leader of a nation (or of anything by that matter) is the primary target for enemies. Being the second or even third in command not only takes you out of the line of fire it also keeps the impression that you are nothing but a servant of the “superior” dynamics. Betas usually go for passive agressive manipulation methods. Being the majority of Popes and Priests, Royal Concealers, War Advisers etc. And not so much as the Kings, Knights and Generals themselves. Historically speaking, Betas have always kept their business and lives in a comfortable zone of having power enough to have everything they need and keeping the image of being in disadvantage in comparison to both Omegas and Alphas. Rarely is the world changed beneath the spotlight, more often than not the ones leading the world are the ones behind the stage.
That’s it for now. I hope you guys enjoyed it. Feel free to add your own take on it ^^
