It was taking her longer to reaquaint herself with a normal job than it probably should have, now that her memories were all back. How mad it seemed, living with two different realities in her head. Not only did she have memories of her real life, of traveling to so many places and planets and all the adventures that came with it, but she also had memories of what her life would have looked like without any of that. It wasn’t what she would have chosen at all.
While she was wrapped up with her thoughts of how strange everything had been since she got here, her manager was ranting to her about the latest workplace drama. It reminded her of when Shareen would go on about whatever was happening to her that day or that week. Rose briefly wondered what she’d been up to lately as she folded the last shirt in the stack for the second time that day. “No, I think you did the right thing,” she nodded, giving her manager a small smile as she finished her rant. A customer had caught her attention as she turned away from her, Rose gave a sigh of relief.
Brown eyes scanned the shop. It was smaller than the one she’d worked in back home, and she could see the entire floor from where she stood. Several people were milling about, looking through racks of clothes and browsing the items on the walls. A couple were taking turns trying on silly hats and making each other laugh and she quickly looked away from them, only for her eyes to catch a figure that made her do a double take. It was him. It was The Doctor. Before she could stop herself, she was moving towards him. “Doctor!” She called, coming to a stop in front of him. God, he hadn’t changed a bit. “’Bout time you showed up,” she grinned.
