Just an update about what will be going on on this blog now. We are really busy, and there is also a lack of submissions for this blog (somewhat understandable), so we will only be posting on here for things like pride month and other related holidays.

Welcome to Do You Know This LGBTQ+ Disabled Character

It’s pretty self explanatory, hope you have fun.

General Information:

Polls will run for a week, hopefully in some order of submission at this point. They will start posting June 1st

As this is do you know this LGBTQ+ disabled character not do you know this LGBTQ+ disabled person, please don’t submit real people. The other main don’t submit this is Harry Potter, there will probably be a few other things, but they aren’t really significant.

Characters do have to be canon disabled and canon LGBTQ+ but it doesn’t have to be explicit in text confirmation, outside confirmation works as well.

If you have any questions feel free to shoot an ask, response time should be soonish.

The block button exists for a reason, please be civil.

Submissions:

Submit as many characters as you want, just only one character per submission. Characters can be sent in via asks but we’d prefer the form linked. Additionally, please consider doing a search of our blog to see if the character has been posted.

Posting Schedule:

We will be posting three polls a day (instead of four), as there is a lower volume of characters that qualify. Additionally, we run @doyouknowthisdisabledcharacter so need a lower posting rate here. The polls will post at 5:00, 13:00, and 21:00 UTC

Other Notes:

We are not all knowing, so if we fuck up on something please let us know.

If you are questioning why we are running a second poll blog when we have difficulty keeping up with the other one, that's fair. That being said, we have a really big backlog of image ids we can use for this, plus the slower posting rate means we really will be operating on a queue for this blog. Additionally, this is just the kinda blog we want to have.

Heads Up:

Over the next few days there are might be characters with disability/LGBTQ descriptions that maybe aren’t the best with the scope of our knowledge. If you think something could be phrased better now or for any polls in the future please let us know.

Does *insert here* count?:

Here is a general definition from the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) that we are going off mostly.

“A person with a disability is someone who:

has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities,

has a history or record of such an impairment (such as cancer that is in remission), or

is perceived by others as having such an impairment (such as a person who has scars from a severe burn).”

You can send us an ask, it’s helpful if you include the specific character you’re thinking of. Alternatively, you can just submit the character, we don’t mind. Additional note: characters whose disability gets cured do count, their disability just has to be a significant part of their character arc. (This is a holdover from dyktdc but I honestly don’t think running a poll here would have different results so.)
