@books-xnd-cleverness; Dearest Ren—you oh-so-quietly take my breath away, and that is a beautiful thing. Some say that the quietest people have the loudest minds, and where you are concerned, I think I see what they mean. 

When I read your work and talk to you, I’m reminded a little of my younger years; long summer days spent reading in a hammock, or peaceful nights listening to crickets and writing in my journal, totally at peace in my own company. I feel like you embrace qualities of modesty and patience and quiet, in a world that barely makes room for such things anymore, and I admire you so much for that. You are fiercely creative and have this vibe that, for me, is almost nostalgic of my calmer, more peaceful days where nothing could touch me so long as I had a book in my hand.

It comes through in all your characters, this thoughtfulness and curiosity of yours. You are so bright and so inquisitive about the world and I adore that. I remember reading your application and bio for Josephine and being extremely impressed. You’re another good example of why someone’s ‘quietness’ should never be mistaken for monotony, why us introverts are not to be underestimated. You have an exceptional level of detail in your writing and world building, and what struck me most when first reading your writing, (including both your OC apps and your open bio for Rosalind) was your extremely evocative images. In screenwriting, one of the most valuable tools you can wield is a proficiency with telling details and specifics. This is of course true in every form of story telling, but I came to appreciate it on a whole new level while going through film school, and consequently the experience of reading your work left me with a sense of sheer awe.

You have such a unique voice, a powerful vision and an utterly compelling knack for character building, and this is truly a filmmaker’s highest compliment, I promise you. You are a force to be reckoned with, Ren, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you, and to get to watch you grow alongside the rest of us nerds. May you stay true, my dear, and may you stay among us for a very long time to come. ❤
