So... WHEN WAS SOMEONE GOING TO TELL ME THAT ANYA CHALOTRA IS MARRIED TO JOSH DYLAN?!?!*
a.k.a. The man that played young Bill in "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again", shared an apartment with Hugh Skinner (young Harry) and Jeremy Irvine (young Sam) while they were filming, and apparently became close friends with them?!?!
No wonder she immediately agreed with Joey that Hugh is like the nicest man alive, and that you'd totally want to be stuck for 24hrs in a lift with him during that interview (around 6:40)!!!
I mean, he and her husband seem to have an awesome epic bromance going on, and have been known to wear matching color coordinated boxers and floral shirts (and take baths) together for fuck's sake!
Like, I know Anya shares a scene with Hugh on the show, and maybe that's usually all it takes for people to fall for him as a person (to be fair, it very well might be! Not to mention I can easily imagine that actors can spontaneously squish on each other, and strike a sudden friendship on set regardless of the time they've been spending together at work); but seriously, the way she was saying "he is so special" and looking like she knew him and was genuinely appreciative of him makes so much sense now!
*Yeah, I know, that's on me for not having paid attention to the photos of "The Witcher" 's premiere earlier. But come on! Why haven't we been talking about this?
Or maybe we have, and I've been so massively distracted during that time that I've managed to miss it...
It's like finding out that Mecia Simson (Francesca) and Tom Canton (Filivandrel) are a couple IRL. When and how did that happen and where the hell have I been? What is my life?!
Thank you for coming to my existential crisis...
I had to check if Josh was already dating Anya when Hugh auditioned for the role of Radovid, and apparently he was!
While I've absolutely no doubt that Hugh most definitely got the role after having had to go through the whole audition process (and apparently totally acing that chemistry read with Joey, while also managing to make his inner Jaskier genuinely laugh), now I can't help but wonder if Anya and/or Josh played any part in bringing Hugh's attention to that specific role in the first place.
And/or his decision to audition.
Something like:
Anya: *coming back home from work* Our casting director just said they needed to find someone that can play an adorkable disaster gay Disney Prince™ that can perfectly pull off the Pound Puppies™ look, make Jaskier feel like a big meanie for having scolded him, out damsel-in-distress the bard, act like a love-stricken fool that's totally oblivious to the fact that not everyone thinks Jaskier is as irresistibly wonderful as he thinks he is, and romance the heart and soul out of that bard to the point of making him want to take off his emotional armor alongside his pants!
Josh: At what time do I tell Hugh he's been booked for his audition?
Anya: Next Monday 2pm, I'm sending him the copy of the scene he'll need to have learned by then right now.
Josh: Did you tell them he likes to share baths?
