new plant!!!!

Meet Dyphileia, or Leia for short. She’s based off of the Diphylleia Grayi flower (skeleton flower). Much like the flower, she turns transparent when wet! While the flower itself is still clearl visible, Leia is less so, and her main physical giveaway is a faint yellow glow that you will really need to focus on in order to see it clearly. 

She awakened five years ago after her pod had become filled with water. Once her pod opened, the menders were amazed to find... nothing. Turns out, while there was still water inside of the pod, Leia had absorbed most of it, which gives her the ability now to become transparent upon contact with water. She also holds a bit of water magic, but it isn’t as potent as a water ele’s magic is.

She accidentally joined a crew of pirates after leaving the Grove, and once the others discovered her ability, they decided that despite the havoc she tended to wreak upon almost everything, she would be a wonderful asset to the crew.

Personality wise, I’d like to say she’s a walking shitpost. She’s a bit loud, fun-loving, outgoing, but very good at what she does. ...sometimes. There have been a few instances where she has dried off and become visible again without her knowing, and, whilst being a little cocky and ridiculous about how she was stealing, the person she was stealing from just sort of stared and asked what the hell she was doing. Other times, a crew member has had to douse her in a bucket of water when on land to get things done.

also those white freckles on her face are smattered across her body, but anet won’t let me do that in-game

the involuntary toll of heartbreak

hey hi meet a new dude i really wasn’t gonna make in the first place since he was supposed to be a minor character. oops.

anywho, here’s the dark & dangerous Garrick, pirate captain of The Dresdia (the ship Leia had accidentally stumbled upon after waking and leaving the Grove)

the angry look on his face is a constant side effect from having to deal with Leia on a daily basis now that she’s a part of the crew. he’s not always angry, though. sometime’s he’s just mildly annoyed

Hey pal! Tell me about dancing headcanons (fav music, who dances and who has two left feet, who loves it and who's secretly great, whatever you want). Remain strong!

Velancea: she definitely has two left feet, but that doesn’t stop her from trying! Canach has had his toes stepped on many times, but still pulls her in for a slow sway every so often

Clodagh: being the seductress she’s always been, Clo is a natural dancer. she can take any role and flawlessly sweep anyone off their feet (she also very much enjoys a good, relaxing slow dance every now and again)

Dyphileia: while “slow and easy” exists nowhere in Leia’s vocabulary, she is very great at quick paced Irish step dancing and Scottish country dancing (think that one kingdom dance scene from Tangled). Just the whole quick and hoppy feel, ya know? She often does this in areas where they dock upon finding someone playing music, or will do it on the ship should someone break out a tune. Many have said it’s almost mesmerizing to watch

Remulys: where Vel could never dance without some help, Remi is secretly a fantastic dancer, and has been one since the day he emerged from his pod. He used to do it all the time in the Grove with other saplings. Now, though, he doesn’t dance - except for the rare occasion part of his old self breaks through on the spot, or he is pretending to be someone he isn’t and merely playing the part undercover to keep hidden
