Hey pal! Tell me about dancing headcanons (fav music, who dances and who has two left feet, who loves it and who's secretly great, whatever you want). Remain strong!
this was a lot of fun to think about! thank you!
~~~~~
Velancea: she definitely has two left feet, but that doesn’t stop her from trying! Canach has had his toes stepped on many times, but still pulls her in for a slow sway every so often
Clodagh: being the seductress she’s always been, Clo is a natural dancer. she can take any role and flawlessly sweep anyone off their feet (she also very much enjoys a good, relaxing slow dance every now and again)
Dyphileia: while “slow and easy” exists nowhere in Leia’s vocabulary, she is very great at quick paced Irish step dancing and Scottish country dancing (think that one kingdom dance scene from Tangled). Just the whole quick and hoppy feel, ya know? She often does this in areas where they dock upon finding someone playing music, or will do it on the ship should someone break out a tune. Many have said it’s almost mesmerizing to watch
Remulys: where Vel could never dance without some help, Remi is secretly a fantastic dancer, and has been one since the day he emerged from his pod. He used to do it all the time in the Grove with other saplings. Now, though, he doesn’t dance - except for the rare occasion part of his old self breaks through on the spot, or he is pretending to be someone he isn’t and merely playing the part undercover to keep hidden
that’s about all I have for right now. thank you so much for the ask <3
hey y'know what I haven't done I havent asked about your characters but I don't know their names YET so how about we just drop these here 🖊🖊🖊🖊🖊 and you tell me about whoever you'd like so I can meet em <3
Aaaa! Thank you! And almost all of my characters are up on this page if ya wanna check it out!
Velancea
She’s the commander. She’s the epitome of strength and fighting through hardships. She’s an inspiration to everyone and everything.
But she’s terrified.
She’s terrified of losing those she has grown so close with. She can’t even think about losing Canach, despite her avoiding him many times as a result of not wanting to deal with the aftermath of their relationship during the events of HoT. She loves him, but is terrified of letting herself love him out of fear of losing him, and she will hold herself and her true emotions back for as long as she needs to in hopes of preventing this from happening, and saving herself from further trauma and heartbreak.
She’s terrified of letting people down. She’s constantly “leading” large groups of people into a fight that could result the loss of their lives or worse circumstances than they began with.
She’s scared, but more scared of showing this emotion publicly than anything. She’s the commander. She knows no fear. She can’t be defeated. She’s immortal.
Right.
She’s the commander.
Remulys & Draigean (I remember getting a message about how I seem to connect most of my characters through their origins and forgot to mention that even these two crazies have had run-ins)
Some time after Albion had been taken in by the wardens and left her control, Draigean ran into Remulys. There was heavy flirting going on between the two (really more just aggressive remarks on Remulys’ part that Draigean found endearing cause let’s be real, Remi can’t flirt. He’s too angry). They were sharing a drink and she brought up him joining the nightmare court, as he could be a great asset to them. However, Remulys declined, as he always did (followed by either killing or cutting out the tongues of those who asked). When threatened, Draigean only seemed to want him more. He was untameable and unhinged, much like herself. The two have slept together a time or two after that, and Remulys eventually disappeared, never staying in one place for too long.
It’s likely they’ll meet again, and it’s very possible that one may end up dead at the other’s hands, but it only makes their encounters all the more exciting.
Clodagh
Clodagh has had nightmares just about every night since she escaped Vorpp and his research crew before they reached their lab. She was always haunted by the violet eyes she saw before she made her escape. This lead to many night terrors and absolute guilt, as she hadn’t attempted to save anyone else. After finding that man, Canach, years later, she was almost brought to tears. He was alive. He had survived. Clodagh had never found a survivor (or one she recognized, at least), and she wanted nothing more than to just fall to her knees crying and thanking all above that he was alive. Even after their hours of talking, Clodagh knew she still couldn’t make up for leaving him and the others behind way back when. She’s come to terms with knowing she will never be able to. Even still, whenever she is with Vel and Dragon’s Watch, she is always looking out for Canach. Always. She knows he’s survived and made it well on his own, but her instinct will always be to protect him. He is always her top priority, though never lets it be known to anyone else. She wouldn’t be able to live with herself if he dies and she was able to prevent it in any way.
Driskel
After Remulys changed and became unhinged due to Mordremoth’s partial corruption that he fought through, he began to target people he knew in order to learn their magic skills. Driskel was someone Vel introduced Remulys to after he’d finally woken from his pod (Driskel found Vel anxiously waiting for Remi to wake, and kept her company and eased her worries). Driskel is a mesmer, and Remulys found the magic of a mesmer to be valuable to him. He could do so much more if he could clone himself, portal, and do just about everything else a person of that profession could do. After the unfortunate first encounter between Remulys and Velancea post-HoT, she had a gut feeling that he could go after Driskel, and contacted people to take Driskel into the Grove and keep him there as to protect him from being taken by Remulys and ultimately be tortured into teaching the corrupted sylvari his magical profession. While he was at first lost on the whole reasoning for being taken to the Grove and put under heavy protection, Driskel was thankful in the long run for Vel’s instincts, as they proved to be true.
Porphyra
She knows nothing of her past life as a dragon. In her current life of a “sylvari,” she only knows that something isn’t quite right. Even so, she still has dreams about a “past life” and it both scares and excites her. Part of her is excited to figure things out. It’s a mystery she can take a journey to solve. Unfortunately, she’s also at high risk for experimentation with each draconic feature that appears on her body. In addition to this, she is constantly frustrated with just not knowing and at times she just wants to break down in tears from the confusion and pressure to figure out who she is before she’s found and kidnapped.
i love all your ocs! velancea and remulys are my favorites!
;-; you don’t know how happy that makes me, Anon! Velancea is my baby and, despite how terrible Remi has become, I love them both to bits, and I am absolutely delighted to know that they’re your favorites! Thank you so very much!
It's 1 am and I have the flu so naturally I'm gonna share some random character tidbits
•
•
- While she isn't exactly narcoleptic, Vel has, at times, passed out in immediate sleep in the middle of meetings. This is caused by very little sleep mixed with long periods of no adrenaline rush-inducing events taking place
- In the aftermath of LWS4E5, Vel is missing her left arm (it will grow back with time)
- Velancea has been perched atop Forgal's shoulders. Some for Vigil-specific reasons, others for... not
•
- Clodagh only either drinks water or white wine
•
- Driskel is the only one who has touched Clo's rifle and lived (barely)
- Driskel has made a habit of dramatically flirting with Canach only because the reactions amuse him
•
- Remulys is afraid of grasshoppers. Always has been
I know I should have written Vel’s out first, but since their stories are connected in the beginning, it was easier to post this first to later link it in Vel’s backstory, which I’ll post later today. There are more events that happened in Remulys’ story, but I tried my best to keep it a bit brief!
Under the cut because size
In the dream, things seemed to be more slowly drawn out for Remulys - where things typically pass by like a fluid movie, the events to him were more episodic. A constant in the dream for him was a small green sylvari with burgundy hair. He felt a sense of warmth radiating from their person, and followed after her.
He journeyed along behind her as she traversed through the dream, but unfortunately, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t quite catch up to her.
When he felt another presence in the dream, he found the Green Knight, and only then did the woman appear next to him, taking his hand and smiling up at him.
Together, they defeated the Green Knight, but the sylvari he’d been following didn’t stick around. She disappeared, and he spent the rest of his time within the dream searching for her.
When he finally emerged from the pod (a week or so after he initially should have awoken and was presumed to forever be stuck within the dream, or dead), he was greeted by that warm presence and smiling face he’d sought after for so long within the dream.
Her name was Velancea, and she told him that he was her little brother, and that she had been waiting for him to wake for a very long time now.
While they emerged from separate pods, their pods were still conjoined (as opposed to the twins sharing a pod). They shared the same dream and fought the Green Knight, Bercilak, together, but he did not get the shared Wyld Hunt of the dragon. Velancea told him it may come later, as it seemed to do for other sylvari.
Immediately, Remulys was taken to her. He took the sibling role very seriously, and the two were always together. While he was much, much larger than Vel herself, he remained a bit aloof, and was far less into the combat Vel seemed to find herself in. Nevertheless, he stayed at her side, watching her with eagerness and awe. He wanted to learn from her.
As Vel was called for more missions and her name grew, Remi stuck around the Caledon Forest. He was always invited to come along, but he would only smile sweetly and say that it was her calling, and he was happy just knowing what his beloved sister was doing. He was a sweet, kind soul, and never even batted an eye when he'd mostly be referred to in passing as “the commander’s little brother” by other sylvari. He loved his sister, and as long as she was okay, he didn't care if that's how he was seen in the world.
Eventually Vel got busier with the Vigil and the Pact, and she couldn't see Remi as often, but that was just fine with him, and he bided his time by joining the Order of Whispers as a way of helping from a distance. She no longer offered for him to come along on missions, but, again, it was okay. He was happy.
And then Mordremoth woke, and shit went down.
He heard the call, but it was nothing like how the other sylvari heard it. It wasn't a jarring voice or a painful sensation - it was a beckon. Curious as ever, he followed the call into Maguuma, where Vel and the group were working to bring Mordremoth down. Their paths never crossed, and Vel never knew Remi had come to Maguuma.
Mordremoth was coaxing Remi to him, using his admiration for his sister to lure him in. It wasn't until he was being attacked by Mordrem and the dragon's call got more jarring that he realized things weren't right at all. But he'd already been stuffed into a blighting pod. Inside, Mordremoth filled his mind with visions of Vel on her journeys, showing how little she came around anymore. The words of others echoed in his head ("commander's little brother,” etc.) and Mordremoth twisted some of the memories to darker ones, creating an illusion of Remi having always been in Vel's shadow, and would always be there. Just like in the dream, he was always fighting to catch up; always trailing behind.
It was horrible and he felt the anger begin to rise within him. The corruption began to fill him and he started to change within the pod, but it got to be so much for Remi that he actually broke out of the pod and brutally attacked and killed the Mordrem around him. The corruption marking his body began to fade as he internally fought Mordremoth's coaxing, except for a dark patch of corruption that would forever remain around his eyes.
While he managed to break free from becoming a mordrem, the damage was still done. He never was the same and became ruthless and highly resentful of Velancea. He left Maguuma and broke into the Durmand Priory to steal the armor from the knight they had killed early on for their dream. While he wasn’t able to get the helmet to complete the set and make him invincible, he didn’t care. He didn’t want to be untouchable. He stole the armor for a point of himself.
His mind is now unstable, switching from dark, evil, and brooding to crazy, psychotic, and totally unhinged at the drop of a hat, all the while keeping his newfound hatred for Vel and everything she stood for.
No longer would he be in her shadow. He'd make a name for himself.
Once Vel heard about a psychotic sylvari wreaking havoc in the Grove, she went to investigate, only to find Remi. A battle ensued with the crazed sylvari, with much confusion on Vel's part until she began to understand what happened to him (as well as him saying things that hinted at what happened with Mordremoth). She tried to reason with him and calm him down, but it was no use. He was too far gone.
Vel had the chance to kill him, and she should have, given the amount of pain, suffering, and torture he had inflicted on so many people, but when she looked at him as she was ready to deliver to blow, she saw her bright-eyed little brother and couldn't do it, and he got away.
He was imprisoned once, but with the help of another sylvari he had briefly met when the Nightmare Court tried to recruit him (it did not end well for them at all), he escaped.
Vel doesn’t speak of him much, but always thinks of him and hates herself for not being able to keep Mordremoth from getting into his head, and most of Dragon’s Watch doesn’t even know she has a brother. Remulys mostly keeps to the shadows, occasionally taunting the Order of Whispers, who forever blame themselves for not being able to keep this from happening. They had shown him how to stealthily move about the world, and not even they can seem to track him down.
Remulys swirled the whiskey in his glass before raising it to his lips. The harsh bite did nothing to bring his eyes away from the sylvari they were planted on. They blazed yellow and hungry as he dragged them up her taut calves and to her full thighs. She wore skin-tight leggings almost the same color as her dark brown skin. She may as well be naked.
Oh, what a sight that would be.
An absolute pleasure.
She was speaking to the barkeep, purchasing some odds, ends, and small vials and bottles. Her nimble hands worked her sachel open to carefully place them inside. They’d make a mess if handled poorly.
But she wasn’t one to handle anything poorly. Not with those deft fingers.
Out from her bag, she produced a small, beige pouch and poured its contents onto the bar. Counting out her coins, she slid a specified amount over to the keeper, who in turn pocketed the currency.
Her lips offered a warm smile as she spoke her thanks. Another few words exchanged, and the lips turned into a lax state of seriousness. More words. Another smile and a bow of her head, and she took her leave.
Right back to his table in the corner.
She still followed him around, but he found it wasn’t quite worth asking why anymore. While he felt his wounds would need no further moderation, he truthfully didn’t care. Should he wish it, he could easily ignore her. He’s done so many times before.
Although nowadays, it wasn’t often that he did.
Upon reaching the table, she placed her hands on her hips.
Hips that swayed oh-so-perfectly when she walked. Hips that grabbed his attention several times on the daily.
She said something about needing to actually pay his running tab, or the barkeep would do something about it. He only regarded her with a bored expression.
She then turned around and walked to the stairs where, at the top, her room was located.
Since you want to scream about Mavis... 1, 45, B and ⚡ for her. There are no recently reblogged ask games on your blog. Just make up the questions so that you can talk about her if you want. This is a blank check if you will.
!!! of course i’ll talk about her! thank you! once I get things settled a little more character-wise, I’ll have to find some ask games to reblog! I’ll try to keep this a little on the brief side cause i tend to ramble about unnecessary details-
~
Mavis is a former Mist Warrior who, after fighting for years, tried to turn her attention to healing after finding she was able to comfort the wounded with soft lullabies. Unfortunately, she never had a hand for it, and she always had to have someone nearby to take over.
After a while, she came across a lone and deeply wounded charr. She did all she could, and went searching for further help. Upon her return to tell him she might be able to help him to a nearby camp, she found he had worsened significantly. All she was able to do was cradle his head in her lap and sing to him. He was scared, but told her that her voice helped to calm him shortly before he had passed.
After losing him, she left the war and began singing in taverns and towns she came across in her travels.
She then met Remulys as he was in a quickly losing battle against a branded devourer. Mavis finished it off before hurrying to his aid. Out of fear of him dying if she left, she was adamant about staying by his side until his wounds were fully healed. He detested the idea, but eventually tried to ignore her and allow her to tag along.
I’ve only had her for a couple of weeks now and am still working on some character stuff with her but she is sweet and soft but also stubborn and strong where she needs to be, with the voice of an angel. I love getting questions about my characters, as they help in the building of them! Thank you, Anon, for the ask!
