Happy Dysi 💕

What's Dysi?
What is Dysi?
I AM SO GLAD YOU ASKED!!!
Dysi is the Orasan Celebration of Love! It lasts for the whole month of June!
During this time, Orasan people celebrate romantic love, the love of friends and family, and self-love too!
Dysi is a popular season to begin courting/dating, a popular season for proposals, weddings and honeymoons, and the renewing of vows!
The celebrations are random acts of kindness, giving gifts, spending time with the people you love, and lots and LOTS of dancing!
On the island of Orasas, every night during Dysi there is a party somewhere! Business slows down because most people are spending time with their loved ones!
If you're not big on romantic love, that's okay! The parties people throw during Dysi are for people to find new friends, new bonds, and revitalize the old ones that might have faded over the years!
Jewelry is a huge huge part of this holiday and of Orasan culture in general! Jewelries are a thoughtful and common gift during Dysi and are worn by everyone, especially by the people who are looking to begin new relationships!
Special clothes are worn during this time, and there are traditional ways to wear the hair!
Orasan culture and its people are very open and loving, so Dysi is a perfect representation of that! Everyone is welcome to dress, dance, and participate. Interracial marriages between Orasan people and people of races/ethnicities/nationalities are especially celebrated!
People normally spend months preparing, stocking up on gifts and clothes and jewelry to wear, planning trips and events of their own during the month of June!
TRIVIA:
Dysi is also known as Summer Sunset or Couple's Season!
A common gift between couples and close friends is Hibiscus Flowers!
A love confession during Dysi is VERY SERIOUS! Any romantic advances are taken as a serious gesture, and 'hookups' and casual relationships are frowned upon during the holiday. If someone has casual intentions during Dysi, and hurts someone's feelings then there will be some judgment
FOOT JEWELRY: some of the most elaborate and intimate jewelry, usually reserved for couples during this time! Wedding anklets, as well as rings, are exchanged in Orasas!
Dysi is a non-religious holiday, so in Orasas in the time of the Elsmaic Followers, this would be a sacred time that the religious and non-religious communities in Orasas would put their differences aside and celebrated together!
Y'Rhadisia (The Dance of my Love) is a special dance especially for close friends or lovers during Dysi and it's like SUPER SWEET and cute if someone asks you to dance this with them! If a stranger or an acquaintance asks you to dance this with them it means they DEFINITELY LIKE YOU!
The most popular traditional foods during this holiday are Jomhom (Orasan Sweet Bread), Yayi (Tropical Fruit Salad), Thidthi (Fried Potato Mash), and Palasa Fo (Skewered Fish)!
I hope to share moreeeeeee!! Thank you so much for asking bby!!
