The twelve days of Maurice
Six Geese A-Laying
It's rare that Charlie is home for Christmas. He's usually deployed somewhere where Christmas isn't celebrated. But this year he's home for the holidays.
You bound into the living room with excessive excitement. "I'm so happy you're home. What do you want to do first? Skating? Build a snowman? Drive around and look at the Christmas lights?"
He looks a little drawn and exhausted from being away for so long.
"No, I just want to spend the day laying on the couch."
"Okay." You're a little disappointed, but you understand.
You bring two mugs of hot chocolate from the kitchen. Placing them on the coffee table, you curl into his side on the couch. He wraps a blanket around you both.
"This is all I wanted for Christmas. I missed you."
