Hank Hill, we need you now!
I'm too tired to scream, but.
Propane delivery to our neighborhood is on Mondays. The house at Home Farm uses propane, so I checked on Friday, Dec 19th. The dial was at 30%, then, which is not very low - but I wasn't sure if Southern States had any black-out dates for delivery around the holidays. J-u-s-t to be sure I called then. I told them how much we had left, asked if there would be deliveries the 22nd and 29th, and asked to be scheduled if not the 22nd, then definitely the 29th. The person I was speaking to was not in the propane deptartment, but told me she'd pass the message on.
Friday the 26th I called back. Asked if we were on the schedule for Monday delivery - we were pretty low by then - just to double check. I was assured that we were. This morning, when I checked the gauge, it was reading really, concerningly low - the lowest number in the dial is 5% so it's impossible to tell if you really have 5% or you're even lower. I turned the thermostat inside down to 50. Running completely out is apparently very bad for the system.
Around 5 pm, Son called (because his car was acting up). Has the propane truck been there? I asked. NOPE. it had not. I told him to turn the heat all the way off. I'm just. So frustrated. I called early, before the holidays. Double checked. This stuff keeps happening!!
Arsenic learns the hard way that Propane and Butane do not play.
