Should he be mean and let Aelius stew in his own sadness for a while or go and cheer him up? The note is kept in his coat pocket as he considers it, wondering if he should wait a few days until he throws the note away. It’s not that he doesn’t appreciate the gesture, just that these bloody notes seem almost unbearably tacky, and the sweet in his hand makes him want to throw up just thinking about all that fucking sugar and artificial flavouring. Maybe he’d go see Aelius... in a few hours or so. A soon-to-be-married man couldn’t seem too keen, now should he?
He snorts as he reads the note, still smelling raspberry sweets and pumpkin pie after he’s set it down on his bedside table, running his hands through his hair.
“.. Real cute, Andie.” Rodolphus scoffs to no-one in particular, straightening his tie before giving the festive card on the table one last glance, seeming guilty, as though it is accusing him of something. “I’ll throw it away later.” He decides finally, leaving the room knowing full well that he wouldn’t.
