ATTENTION ART COLLECTORS Next week, my monotypes will go on sale at the E/AB fair in NYC @eabfair The first one pictured is one I kept for myself and gifted to my Aunt/mother for her birthday thus past September. It was framed by my one of my good friends Will Douglas, here in Tampa @willwdoug The other two will be in NYC Text below was copied from @anthonykirkeditions Kalup Linzy is a video and performance artist who is a recipient of numerous awards including grants from the Tiffany and Guggenheim Foundations and a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship in Film. Linzy’s best known works are an on-going series of videos that satirize the conventions of the day time soap opera. These theatrical works challenge the ideas of gender while embracing other pop cultural forms such as drag performances. In them he has developed a large range of characters based on stereotypical Hollywood figures and often performs them himself. His performance videos are in the collections of The Studio Museum, Whitney Museum of American Art, Museum of Modern Art, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. This past summer at the Art Omi Residency I collaborated with @kaluplinzy on his first monotypes. These prints, based on characters from his recent videos, depict “Ozara and Katessa” in which he performs alongside James Franco, and “Joshua Justin Queen and KK Queen” in which he plays both characters. Both Monotypes will be exhibited in the @anthonykirkeditions booth at the upcoming E/AB Fair @eabfair @art_omi . . . . #kaluplinzy #anthonykirkeditions #eabfair #eabfair2018 #monotype #monotypes #artomi #nycart #nycartist #ozaraandkatessa #kkqueen #joshuajustinqueen #performanceart #moma #museumcollection #whitneymuseum #brooklyn #brooklynartist #metropolitanmuseumofart #jamesfranco #soapopera #asdaartworldmightturn #videoart #akuainks #drag #artresidency #printmaking #actor #artist #thespian https://www.instagram.com/p/BpH59fkhtZQ/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=7g0xxjkpkzqr
