          angela laughs at the message. it’s so dorky in a way that’s just so lena— questionably charming, so much so that one would be justified to doubt it, play it off as a joke.

          [ sms : lena . ] As tempting as it is, we’ve got a little girl at the hospital that                                  needs her elbow relocated. We may have to reschedule.

             wings collapse as her heels touch with the ground, coming to a stop next to the pilot. it’s been a long time since she’s seen lena, but it seems to her nothing ever changed; still she wore the goggles; still she wore orange.

             she’s indifferent to the orange, now. she was just glad it never ran red.

             “you’re not wilting this time, are you, lena?” a friendly shoulder-bump, a smile on her lips. “packed water just in case— wasn’t sure if you’d remember!”
